I had the good fortune of being hired in 1973 by the author of the Mass Practice volume 29 on Workers Compensation, professor Laurence Locke.  This was an amazing jump start to a career in workers compensation and income maintenance practice (including social security disability) . I have been involved in the handling thousands of claims over these many years, and continue to do so along with my son Adam, who is my partner here at the Troupe Law Office. 

I have worked in conjunction with civil litigation lawyers on many third party cases that arose out of my work injury cases. My office was directly involved in the first mass filing of asbestos third party claims in Massachusetts in the early 80's. Since then I have successfully persued hundreds of claims for asbestos disease, both state and federal. 

Another large part of my practice are claims for social security disability and SSI. Many of these cases arise from my workers compensation claims, but and equal number are solely social security claims.

I am the former chairman of the Mass Bar Association's Workers Compensation Comm.

I am a frequent lecturer on the issues of workers compensation and the coordination of workers compensation with other income sources such as social security disability and long term disability insurance.

I was one of the earliest attorney's from Massachusetts inducted into the National College of Workers' Compensation Attorney's, a prestigious national groupe of attorney's on both sides of the bar, judges, and other experts in the field.
