I saw David a few years ago for a personal injury case. My family and I were the victims of a hit and run by a drunk driver. It was his third offence and he was driving on a suspended license and had supposedly just completed in patient alcohol treatment. He hit my car with myself, my two children..., and husband as we drove home from church and then kept driving until State troopers apprehended him a few miles later. The experience was very traumatic. Ultimately though our only documented injuries after the accident was cervical spine injuries in myself (actually visible on X-ray). I saw a physical therapist for treatment and they honestly did see me for quite a while (around 6 months) but this was rather a testament to how seriously the accident had affected me (my kids were rear-facing in carseats so luckily they didn't have the forward motion that I did). After all this and learning that the driver was an aggravated repeat offender David got an offer of around $6000 dollars from the offenders insurance company (my PT bill was ~$2000). He told me that was the best we could get and that if we saw a jury we wouldn't even get that much because juries are "tired of whiplash injuries." I understand that soft tissue neck injuries don't seem as serious as broken bones, but it was also just very traumatic to be hit on the highway with our children in the car. Plus this was a repeat offender who had in the past deliberately hit someone with his car while drunk. I felt that he basically scared me into accepting the very low offer which after his fees was only ~$4000. About a year after the accident I was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule. I was treated very conservatively in the US and there was never any talk of the cause. I have since moved to a different country and my treatment is more aggressive. My thyroid is so enlarged on one side (that side is larger than the whole thyroid should be) that it is pushing my trachea out of alignment. My doctor here happened to ask if I had any neck injuries prior to my original diagnosis. I thought back to the car accident which was just about 1.5 years before my diagnosis, where the seatbelt was on the side of my enlarged thyroid. I will have to have surgery within the next few years to remove half of my thyroid. My doctor was very clear that he can't definitively say that the accident caused the thyroid problem but that it is something that some doctors have begun researching a connection too. I still feel very upset that David pressured us not to go before a jury. I believe our chances would have been much better with a jury than with the insurance company. I found the settlement very paltry. David is very nice and friendly but I would never recommend him as a personal injury attorney. Perhaps he is much better for family law.

Consulted with David about my options when suddenly faced with a divorce. Working with David was easy and effective. He made me feel at ease during a difficult time. He was very informative and thorough throughout the whole process. Summary: David was great to work with, he knows the local judges well, has great connections at the area courthouses, and couldn't have been a better attorney for me and my case. As a native Mainer, I learned a lot about Massachusetts law last Fall when I dated a seemingly nice girl from Beverly...... who went completely insane (had an actual degenerative health issue). After I had to call the police on her in Maine, I blocked every way of her communicating with me. After about 2 weeks, she filed a Abuse Prevention order in Salem, MA, stating I had been tracing her phone, tracking her with GPS units, and all sorts of other outlandish (really crazy) accusations. One day the Police just showed up to my house and handed me a restraining order. At first I thought "no problem," I clearly did nothing wrong, I'll go to court and just make my case..... THEN I started reading about the laws and how the judicial system in MA works in this scenario and I thought "*CRY* My professional life is over!!." I immediately contacted David Broderick, who spent way more time with me than I expected, preparing a very, very thorough case. The affidavit was so nutty, we had to spend a lot of time clearly disproving every insane point in there, which we did. We went through every text message, every voicemail, every phone record and ended up putting together a case against the order and getting it dropped. I couldn't thank David enough!
