Ryan L. Harrison graduated cum laude from Murray State University in 2000 earning degrees in psychology and criminal justice. He received his law degree, with a concentration in litigation and dispute resolution, from Boston University School of Law in 2003. At Boston University, he was named a G. Joseph Tauro Scholar and was an editor of the Annual Review of Banking and Financial Law.
Ryan is licensed in California and Texas. His practice is focused on construction disputes and other complex tort litigation. He has represented general contractors and subcontractors in matters involving a wide variety of structures, including commercial and residential buildings. He has also represented Fortune 500 corporations and small businesses in numerous tort cases. Additionally, Ryan has substantial experience handling commercial litigation matters; and, he has appellate experience involving writs and civil appeals.
Ryan is rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale-Hubbell in Litigation and Construction Law. This distinction represents the highest rating by his peers for legal ability and general ethical standards. Ryan was selected to the Texas Super Lawyers Magazine – Rising Stars list for Construction Litigation in 2016. He is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas, an honorary society chartered by the Supreme Court of Texas to recognize lawyers who maintain and enhance their professional skills by completing at least double the required hours of continuing legal education each year.
Ryan is also a member of the Austin Bar Association Construction Law Section, Construction Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, American Bar Association Section of Litigation, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, and Defense Research Institute Construction Law Committee. As a DRI member, Ryan currently serves as the Vice-Chair of Publications for the Construction Law Committee and as the Editor of the Committee’s newsletter, The Critical Path. Ryan is also the Vice-Chair of Publications for IADC’s Construction Law and Litigation Committee.
