Case Conclusion Date:January 1, 2009
Practice Area:Estate Planning
Outcome:Completed estate planning for client before he died of terminal cancer
Description:I was hired by a middle-aged gentleman who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. He needed a will, durable power of attorney, and medical directive done as quickly as possible. He was very worried he would die before this was completed. I pushed everything else aside and completed his documents and sent them to him to review. He approved them, and I arranged to meet him at his house with witnesses for him to execute his estate planning documents. At that time, he had lost a great deal of weight and was weak but still able to walk. We got it all done and I delivered his original and copies to him a couple of days later. I offered to meet with his daughter after he died, without charge, to help her figure out what she needed to do. He died about six weeks later and I did meet with his daughter for about two hours at my office.
