Description: I represent 13 absent class members who objected to the antitrust class action settlement with diamonds company De Beers for controlling supply and sales and inflating the price of diamonds. Critical materials for evaluating the $295 million settlement and $75 million lawyer's fees were not made available to absent class members in time to meaningfully review and participate in the final settlement hearing, violating their due process rights. I objected and wrote an appeal to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit to reverse the settlement, outcome pending.
