Our startup was recently acquired by a Fortune 500 company and a great deal of our success was thanks to Chris Hurley.

Chris worked with us for three years starting shortly after the company was founded, and as a result was present during many of the phases of a growing startup. His experience was invaluable in a wide range of business issues - advice on contracts, decisions on corporate structure, negotiating with partners, fund-raising initiatives, and the nuts and bolts of running a company. He always exceeded our expectations.

I've worked with many attorneys who had to be schooled on software issues, but not Chris. He understands the unique needs of the software business, from drafting our Terms of Service and licensing agreements, advising on intellectual property issues, and dealing with piracy and takedown requests.

Chris is an excellent lawyer but just as importantly is a wonderful advisor, especially to a Seattle startup. He has an extensive network both in Seattle and in the technology sector, and many times referred us to other professionals in accounting, venture capital, as well as to other specialists. He and his team have hands-on operational experience that really makes a difference in understanding the real-world needs of a startup.

When it comes time to sell a company an entrepreneur has a firehose of issues to deal with simultaneously, and it can be quite stressful and complicated. Because of Chris' pragmatism, common sense, and grace under pressure, I was able to feel much more comfortable by vetting all the rapid-fire decisions through him. He was extremely responsive and reliable throughout the process, and his advice helped lead to an optimal outcome for myself and the company.

Chris is very personable, honest, and easy to work with, which is no small thing. It made it a pleasure to spend time in consultation with him, as well as feeling that each time I did so, I had strengthened the business.

We were always grateful to have him on our side. To me he is simply the best.

I used Chris as my General Counsel at my last company and again at my current company. He has been a huge asset on several occasions. I have watched him run circles around opposing counsel during negotiations on more than one occasion.

Chris has been our lead legal advisor and lawyer at my startup. He's awesome - easy to talk to, knowledgeable of the types of things startups do -- and he will work with you to meet those last-minute startup deadlines. He's a great partner and advisor.

Chris was recommended by a friend in finance. Chris is super-responsive, and he always made us feel comfortable. He could sense when we did not understand an important point, and he'd help us understand it.

Importantly, Chris and his partners have been entrepreneurs, and you can appreciate his experience, and he can relate that thinking very efffectively.
