Description: Plaintiffs sued for defamation based upon the Sequim Gazette's report about allegations made in certain court documents filed by former employees of the plaintiffs. The Clallam County Superior Court granted the defendants' motion to dismiss on January 26, 2006, finding that the newspaper was privileged to publish a fair and accurate summary of the contents of court records. On January 17, 2007, the Washington Court of Appeals, Division II, affirmed this dismissal. The plaintiffs have filed a petition for review with the Washington Supreme Court.
