Auto accident caused shoulder injury and broken nose, I tried to play nice with insurance company who was taking advantage of my naiveness. I am self employed, loss of time for medical appointments and the injury itself put my company at risk. I was reluctant to seek an attorney because I was intimidated by attorney fees, after a year and a half of trying on my own I decided to take this to another level and called Janoff Law.
I shouldn't have waited, Jeff is a really genuine guy who listed and gathered information to build my case. I was able to take the time off I needed to heal 100%, receive compensation for loss of work which the insurance was fighting against and met a great attorney. I have and will continue to refer to Janoff Law.
Jeff was very easy and pleasant to work with. He avoided using "lawyerspeak" at all times. The case he handled for me was complicated by the fact that the accident occurred in Southern California, and the insurance company was foreign. At every turn Jeff had to educate the insurance company's attorney on California , and at times, Federal law. He persisted and was able to settle the case, to my satisfaction, with timing that exceeded my expectations.
Jeff Janoff is a very hard working and intelligent lawyer. I have given his name to many persons over the years, several of which have told me that they were very happy with the result. I would not hesitate to recommend him to others to handle personal injury matters because I believe that he is far more diligent and competent than the average lawyer and they are in good hands.
Mr. Janoff seems to be one of the most incompetent lawyers we have met. I was injured in an auto accident and although we had multiple firms willing to take the case, Mr. Janoff was recommended by a friend so we went with him. Had to fire him 3 months into the case as he was not timely or efficient. He did not seem to care about our case or have any priority for it. It was impossible to get a full response from him on most items as he "had to review" case law. Does not seem knowledgeable or skilled to be practicing law by himself, he always had to refer to other experts/lawyers for advice. Would not recommend him. We since then have hired a new firm and we are confident that they have our case under control. Should be settled out of court very soon.
NOT RECOMMENDED. He did not fight for my husband and I after our car accident. He hid case details from us, including a $2 million umbrella policy. He withdrew from our case shortly before our trial date and we could not find another attorney willing to take the case. More than 15 other firms rejected us because of the limited time and the mess he left in our records even though they wanted the case because it was a good case and there was a $2 million umbrella policy. When I finally got our records and saw the correspondence, it seemed like he was working more for the insurance company we were suing than he was for us.
I have known Mr. Janoff for 15 years and he has handled matters for my family and several friends. I have the up most respect for his ethics, knowledge, litigation skills and follow-through. In my business, I routinely deal with attorneys and Mr. Janoff is insigtful, practical and an excellent communicator. When choosing litigation counsel, one must be carefully weigh whether the attorney has the ability, if need be, to take the case all the way through trial. Mr. Janoff has my complete confidence to do so and has excellent varied trial experience. The ability to negotiate an early and favorable settlement is equally important and again I can attest that Mr. Janoff is practical and holds the needs of his client(s) above all other considerations.
