great patent lawyer - knows his stuff - won't bankrupt you

Britten is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful patent lawyers I have ever encountered. I've found that he has a knack for looking at a complex idea and extracting what can be the basis for a patent. But what sets him apart form the rest is his sensitivity to the budget. He'll get you just wh...at you need for the job - no more no less.

An outstanding service from Britten David Sessons

It all started back in December 2013 when I filed a Provisional Patent. I worked on the project and planned to file a Utility Patent before the Provisional Patent expired in December 2014. Due to the complexity and amount of work needed to file a Utility Patent and no prior experience, I started to ...look for someone who could help me complete the filing process. The cost of filing patent is generally very high for an individual inventor. I read an article in San Jose Mercury news describing Lincoln Law School of San Jose that helps out people like me. I immediately contacted them and they accepted helping me out. I was in touch with an outstanding individual, Mr. Britten Sessions who undertook the responsibility of filing a Utility Patent on my behalf. The deadline for filing was almost on us and I had serious doubts if things could be done in a couple of weeks time. I was expecting that my Provisional Patent will expire and I shall have a new filing date with the Utility Patent. To my surprise, Britten Session and his team pulled off the filing ON TIME, including digitally redrawing all my diagrams! Since then I have been in constant contact with Britten Sessions as the patent process has been progressing. The application got allowance in mid 2015, and a continuation of claims. The paperwork for both allowance and continuation of claims was done shortly afterwards. Now I am waiting for the final outcome!

"Britten is a singular patent and trademark professional of the highest caliber. I have known him for several years. Recently, I worked for him at the IP Clinic at Lincoln Law School of San Jose, California. He is the Director there in addition to working full-time as a patent attorney. Not only is he an exceptionally articulate communicator and organized individual, he has acquired a profoundly keen knowledge of the patent laws, rules and procedures. I sincerely recommend his work and I would not hesitate to send him even the most challenging matters."

"I’ve supervised Britten since 2010. During that time, Britten has promptly and thoroughly delivered results, and consistently provided high quality work product. Additionally, Britten has repeatedly taken the initiative to improve his IP skills (often during his own free time) as well as be actively involved in the community. I therefore endorse Britten as a high quality patent attorney."

"I highly recommend Britten for your legal work. I was introduced to Britten when representing a client in a patent sale, where he was representing the buyer, and was impressed enough that I decided I wanted to join his team at the Lincoln Law School IP Clinic, where he is the Director. Having worked with Britten on prosecuting patents at the Clinic, I have no hesitation to recommend him to draft and prosecute your patent applications."

Relationship: Other

"Britten is a tenacious and effective advocate not only for his clients but for the entire legal community. For example, he created Abraham Lincoln School of Law's IP Clinic, the first non-ABA school to ever be admitted into the USPTO clinic program. It is Northern California's only patent clinic, and one of just two trademark clinics in Northern California. And it is pro-bono based, meaning that it helps the broader community. Several high-profile legal professionals, many of them with far more years of legal experience than Britten, have sought placement as clinic instructors working under Britten. To me, that shows how capable and remarkable Britten is as an attorney. I endorse him without reservation."
