Janis Carney successfully assisted my father in elder planning with specific preparations to file for VA benefits. Ms. Carney is very knowledgeable and highly trained in this sub-specialty of elder law. In fact she is certified to practice before the VA, a somewhat exclusive designation.
I found Ms. Carney extremely fair, generous with her time and, most importantly, effective in her work. My father is enjoying a more financially secure retirement thanks to the Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks firm.
I have worked with many lawyers in my professional career, and I recommend Carney, Sugai & Sudweeks unreservedly
Janis Carney was hired to help with my aunt. My favorite aunt had Alzheimer's and was placed in a care center by her step-son, someone she had never liked or trusted. I live in Kansas, my mother (younger sister of my aunt) in New Mexico, and we were unable to get any information about my aunt's care, medical condition or finances. It took several years to get everything taken care of, but Janis Carney's knowledge, determination and caring demeanor eventually got a conservatorship set up for my aunt - both for medical and finances. Janis, and her connections in the community, allowed us to care for my aunt at a distance. My Mom and I are most grateful for having had Janis Carney on our side and highly recommend her as an attorney and as a caring individual.
