Outcome: Judgment plus Attorneys Fees Against Defendant

Description: Prosecuted claim against public works contractor for multiple violations of the State False Claims Act before the State Office of Administrative Hearings on behalf of County, and defended against contractor’s claims involving delay claims, quantity disputes, design defects and home office overhead (Eichleay) claims. Thirty day arbitration hearing followed by over 800 pages of briefing resulted in award in favor of County for twenty-seven separate violations of the False Claims Act and civil penalties of over $200,000 against contractor and award of $500,000 in attorneys' fees.
