This review is long overdue. I went to Mr. Pastor for a consult regarding misdemeanor criminal domestic abuse and child abuse charges. I took the police report in with me told my side of the story and how the police fabricated things in their report and how certain things never happened. During our consult, Mr. Pastor told me he needed to "meditate" on the case and proceeded to close his eyes and meditate. He then told me that he thought I would be convicted of at least one of the charges and the best thing to do would be to go to as many child abuse classes as possible and hope to get the charges dropped to lower charges, and that he would try to drag this case out as long as possible until that happened. He said that I needed to make "life changes" even though I have never been an abusive parent, and this whole case was total bulls**t. I left his office feeling so upset and hopeless! But I knew these charges were wrong and unjust. I ended up going to trial with a public defender to fight the charges. Before the trial the DA tried to make a deal to drop all 4 charges against me as long as I plead to a misdemeanor for disturbing the peace. I still said "no way." We went to trial over the course of 1.5 days and I was found not guilty of all charges. The public defender fought for me from the very start. She was very smart and knew the ins and outs of the whole court system, the judges, and the DA. She told me how she had people accused of these types of charges all the time and how ridiculous some of these cases were, and how she got not guilty verdicts all the time. I am so glad I went to a public defender and did not listen to this wacko's advice. I advice anyone with legal trouble to not go to Mr. Pastor as he is more of a life coach and not someone who is going to fight for you.

David worked tirelessly to bring about the best possible result. We owe a great debt to him. His integrity is well-respected by the district attorneys and judges in this county. This was one of the reasons that we were able to get the best possible outcome. Another reason is his extensive efforts in demonstrating to the court the reasons why a lesser charge would be appropriate.

My case involved a family dispute around the settlement of a financial estate. The charges levelled against me were horrifying and had significant Immigration as well as criminal implications if proven.
Mr. Pastor was able to have all felony charges against me withdrawn and my punishment reduced to a misdemeanour.
Mr Pastor's key attributes are his personal integrity; his absolute insistence on total honesty; and his ability to leverage his almost 40 years of direct experience and relationships to devise and execute a winning strategy. He couples these skills with a calm, reassuring approach and levels of accessibility and responsiveness that are a credit to him.
I am enormously grateful for all that Mr. Pastor has done for me. I am not sure that any other attorney could have achieved the same outcome.
I have no hesitation in strongly recommending Mr. Pastor.

A couple of years ago, my brother and myself met with David Pastor to discuss protection for my 85 year old Father. He had a predator who was trying to get to his assets. David recommended a Conservatorship of the estate and person because of his situation and failing health. My father had an existing living trust with me as the successor trustee. Long story short, the conservatorship was set up perfectly and the restraining order against the predator was signed by the judge. I was appointed conservator. As time went on, all estate assets were transferred into the trust and the conservatorship was closed, except for the conservatorship of the person, which my father needed. David Pastor is an excellent attorney and had a vision, such as a chess game. At the end, we got everything we wanted, total protection for the assets and for my father personally. I could not be happier with the outcome. A milestone on a 3 to 4 year process. I would refer David to anyone in the highest regard and would use him in the future whenever needed.

David was kind and yet very realistic about my case. He helped me through what was the worst thing I have done by his attitude and treatment of me. Everything he said would happen did happen, and he even got me a better result than expected, in that the community service/litter pick up part of the sentence was waived. I would seek David's help for any legal matter I needed guidance in.

My son was arrested for felony domestic abuse and one other minor offense. He contacted Mr. David Pastor to represent him in these matters. Mr. Pastor's calm approach and advice from years of experience helped to reduce my son's trauma from this arrest. Mr. Pastor's efforts researching the situation, his field investigator's work and Mr. Pastor's interaction with the DA's office resulted in the felony charge going away. His work also resulted in a most favorable resolution of the minor charge. If you need excellent legal representation contact Mr. David Pastor!

I'm so happy I Called attorney Pastor, he’s great man! He took the time to explain our options and was able to convince the jury to drop the case completely. You should call him if you have a legal matter plus he’s got very reasonable rates so he’s definitely my first choice for DUI attorneys in Walnut Creek.

On September 7th I was asleep and intoxicated parked in front of a gas pump in Berkeley. I was booked into jail that night and released the next day, but I could not risk being convicted of a DUI. I am an undocumented student, brought into this country when I was 2 years old. A DUI conviction would disqualify me from The Deferred Action Plan recently passed by Obama and any jail time would put me on ICE hold, which would put me in danger of deportation. I didn't know where to turn.
After speaking with a lot of lawyers, I still felt hopeless. No one could offer me more than false hopes and low prices with a lot of hidden fees.
David was recommended to me by a good friend. I needed someone with a background in Immigration Law, an expertise in Criminal Law but also an attorney that was well established in Alameda County. He fit all these qualifications.
David never pretended to be anyone he wasn't. The thing about David that really put me at ease was his blunt use of truth. Unlike every other attorney I talked to, David was not interested in my money and he wasn't going to shower me with optimistic solutions he couldn't guarantee.
He has a genuine fascination and love for his profession. This man is not in it for the money. He is interested human connection and fully satisfying his clients. David B. Pastor is a great lawyer, which is hard to come by in this greedy profession. He made it very clear to me that he understood the gravity and complexity of my case.
Result of my case:
The DA dropped my case!! I will not be getting deported. No tickets need to be paid. I still qualify for partial citizenship through the Deferred Action Plan! I will not be convicted of a DUI or any other legal offense.
Only to add to my joy, David excused the debt of money I still owed him.
This professional is not only an amazing Criminal Defense Attorney but also a genuinely good guy.

I highly recommend attorney David Pastor for DUI defense work. He negotiated a great deal for my rather complex multiple DUI situation. I don’t think any of the “big name”, heavily advertised attorneys could have gotten me the same deal. David could because of his many years of experience, not just with DUI cases, but with all the players in this area. He has formed relationships with the key people involved – the judges and prosecutors – which allowed him to negotiate the best possible outcome for me.
David gives a free initial consultation, which I was a little skeptical of, thinking it might be just another salespitch, but at a greater expense to my time. It turned out he was a real straight-shooter. He didn’t try to scare me into hiring him with worst case scenarios, nor did he sugarcoat anything. He actually listened to my circumstances and told me frankly what he thought. His character really became evident, though, when he came to his fee. First, it was a good amount lower than the lawyers that heavily advertise. More importantly, he broke it down into two parts – one larger one to cover the court/legal side of the cases and another to cover the DMV’s “administrative per se” hearing – then proceeded to tell me that in my situation, it would be a waste of my money for him to cover the DMV hearing. Imagine!
Incredible result, low cost, very accessible and straightforward – I really can’t recommend David highly enough.
