This attorney was assigned to me by the VLSP in San Fancisco, Ca. At 1st he acted all concerned. But after he was on the case for 1 month I noticed a change in his attorney/client relationship towards me. It was almost liek he took on a "Charity Case" since he was working pro-bono or for a lesser court fee, he refused to travel to Oakland Ca. to obtain evidence for my case. He made me go get it and I was on crutches at that time. He told me he isn't getting paid and made me even meet him at a recycle place in Daly City,Ca by Target to give him the papers. He also, was rude and very rude and snappy when emailing me and refused to talk on the phone and claimed he only emails his clients and this is the only way he corresponse with his clients. he took my personal emails and breached attoney/client confidentiality by forwarding them to minor's counsel with out my permission, knowing that I had expressed some of my own opinions about her which were comments I didn't want her to know.He intenionally did this numerous times, which made the minor's counsel dislike me and hold a even more bias outlook on me then before. I fired him and he still hasn't filed the documents releasing him off my case. He was unprofessional and on my court conference he didn't even send a subsitute knowing he was in the hospital or out ill, and he refused to communicate that with me.He felt I should be kissing his feet since he was working for a pro-bono rate and he thought he could threat the poor african american student like nothing and she better be happy I even took her case. I do beleive since him and the commisioner are friends and they are all already against me he took on a bias outlook also, and decided that he wasn't going to help me. I was so disappointed for in the begining he lead me to believe he wanted to help better my case. But no...that was not his intentions..he harmed my case...

Before Alan I had a lawyer that did very little and when I needed them the most they would not help me out until I filled there bank account again, Alan took my case and got me my kids back without an eye blink and did it right away. Alan saved my family and we love his work, I have to say he is one of the best I have ever came across and I came across a few of them. We would recommend him to anyone who needs his help and we would use him again for sure.

I don't know how he earned the high rating, he must be writing his own reviews. We used this "attorney" for a case, he showed up late to court, forced a signature because of his tardiness before the document was read, did not have the necessary information in the document to win the case, then found it more important to feed himself rather than explain to us why he didn't prepare the document properly!!!!!

Alan is a very knowledgeable and trustworthy lawyer. While the divorce process took longer than I had wanted, Alan was instrumental in finalizing it as soon as possible.

I have had prior experience with other lawyers on my case. The difference in how the case was handled can hardly be compared. Alan Rothstein sets priorities, stays focused on the matters-at-hand, and helps bring completion to unresolved items. My case has been on-going for almost nine years.
