I hired Mr. Bishop to handle my divorce after searching for a Christian attorney on the internet. My experience with him was that he is not trustworthy, responsive and did not do a good job of keeping me informed. He had me spend unnecessary hours providing him with personal information that he claimed he needed only to charge me for him to read it and never use. More than once he would have me come into his office to go over my case and he would never talk about my case but would have me sit and watch him work. He also called me after work hours from a bible retreat and during the conversation told me he couldn't sleep because he couldn't stop thinking about me. There is a lot of helpful public information at the SD County courthouse regarding this attorney. Had I of known before I would of known not to hire him.
Mr. Bishop was just what I needed. He took the time to explain everything to me so I wasn’t anxious about the process. His fees were reasonable. He even went out of his way to keep me informed when I wasn’t home to receive his calls. He was aggressive in court when needed and really made me feel secure in the counsel I obtained. I would recommend him to others in need of a competent attorney who cares about their case. Thanks Mr. Bishop.
Mr. Bishop is not trustworthy as he painted a wonderful picture of representing me before the judge but when it actually came to that day, he demonstrated himself to either be incompetent or to purposely lose my case (the comments he made seemed like he didn't really believe in my case). I feel I was also "taken" by him as he spent time and my money "preparing" and obtaining personal information from me but never challenged the judge or my ex. He was also inappropriate in ways I don't wish to discuss here. Thank you.
I fired this attorney from representing me for the following reasons: his multiple continuances concerning my case when they weren't needed, his confusing billing system, his unprofessional manner as well as his overall poor knowledge of client rights.
He is not a California State Board CFLS and it shows.
Mr. Bishop was attentive to my specific needs, concerns, and challenges in my particular case, and was candid about what I could expect. He was able to accurately assess not only the outcome, but the costs required to see the case through to the end. I was pleased to see his swift action when needed to combat what seemed to be some underhanded dealings by the opposing counsel, and I felt assured that he always had my best interests in mind. I received copies of every document and letter that was filed within two days of its being submitted, and was notified by phone immediately if something required my urgent attention. Mr. Bishop was able to predict nearly every ruling that the judge entered, which gave me further assurance of his knowledge and experience of how the court system works. Mr. Bishop is both friendly and professional, and takes a genuine interest in his clients.
