I began to work with Eric through a bait and switch scheme conducted by Cordell and Cordell. The attorney I interviewed and consulted with was switched out and I was given Eric instead. Then the firm proceeded to charge me a 2nd consultation fee. The firm represents themselves as a firm that understands the difficulty a father and how hard it is to have a fair trial as a man.
Eric engaged in ridiculously frivolous conversations with opposing counsel which appeared to be fueled by a need to bill more dollars. I found myself paying all my savings for phone calls that yielded absolutely nothing and increased family tensions. I realized this firm is about dollars and not families. My concern was always for the kids first, but that was clearly an afterthought for Eric and for Cordell. I eventually asked Eric to withdraw because I realized I could not sustain that type of attorney much longer. Plus I couldn't allow him to do anymore damage to my family. Eventually I got to the point in which I needed to handle the billing of Cordell and Cordell. That's when I really understood where the issues were. Cordell is disorganized, erratic and everything you would have nightmares about. I attempted to pay them just to get rid of them, but they refused my payment threatening to take me to collections. Dealing with Cordell and Cordell was the worst possible experience during a time when I needed someone qualified.
