About Me

I am admitted to practice in state courts in Texas and Colorado, in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.

I am a member of the American Association for Justice, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, as well as the Ameircan Board of Trial Advocates.  I have lectured on Jury Selection at seminars for both the State Bar of Texas and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and have been a faculty member of the Trial Advocates College of Texas, sponsored by the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

I am a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, which is an international association of litigators.  Membership is by invitation only, requires more than one hundred jury trials, and recognition by one's peers as meeting the highest standards of professional competence and ethics.  Of the 600 lawwyers in Lubbock, only 30 are members.

I have been apapointed as a special prosecutor by the district judges in Lubbock County since 1992.  One of the cases involved the county medical examiner, and my investigation resulted in the return of seven felony indictments, a conviction, and the loss of his medical license.

I I have been active as an alumnus volunteer for the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, serving as Lone Star Regional President, Legal Counsel to the Supreme Counsel, Supreme Counsel Vice President, and International President.

I have taught an adult Sunday School class at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas.

I have served on the Boards of a number of local philanthropic agencies, and most recenly was the Chair of the Legal Division of the 2009 United Way Campaign.

I enjoy snow skiing, fly fishing and flying, and I hold a multiengine instrument pilot's certificate.
