Ms. Stewart was the first attorney I hired and initially, she told me everything I wanted to hear about my family law case, but once I paid the retainer fee, it was as if she forgot about me and my case. She was not up front about her costs and fees, always saying vaguely that the costs would vary while my next (and last) attorney gave me a fair flat fee no matter how long or how far the case went. Each time I spoke to her, I had to remind her about even the most basic main points and important aspects of my case as if she had forgotten everything. The morning of our hearing, she was 30 minutes late. When I told her what I wanted out of the case, she conferred with the other attorney, saying that what "her client" (I) wanted wasn't always what attorneys think is best, but that such-and-such is what I want (basically belittling my desired outcome). Then, when I voiced fears to her about the effect the worst possible outcome of the case might have on my child, she suggested my child should just go to therapy. I was so upset and angry and felt that was very unprofessional. I got a new attorney who got me everything I wanted with a flat fee and minimal hassle. I would not recommend Ms. Stewart.

She handled an out of state custody case from the Texas end. Was honest and told of her limited experiance (at the time). Charged me a very fair price and got the job done more than adequately. Seemed to have good resources in the field for counsel. I would use her again for simple family law
