Estrada et.al. v. State Farm Insurance Companies

Outcome: Settled pursuant to a Consent Decree.

Description: Suit was filed by seven named individual plaintiffs representing a class of similarly situated individuals alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil rights Act of 1964, as amended, in connection with hiring, assignment, failure to promote, terms and conditions of employment, and discharge. The suit alleged the violations as sex, race and national origin discrimination under Title VII. In addition to the named individual plaintiffs and class, the EEOC was a named party intervenor. The case began as an EEOC Commissioner's Charge in 1980. Suit was filed in 1989. The Consent Decree was approved in 1991. And the case was administratively closed after all of the terms of the Consent Decree were met in 2001.
