Lance A. Pool is Of Counsel to the law firm of Steckler, LLP. where he concentrates his practice in the areas of catastrophic personal injury, trucking , wronful death, nursing home abuse/neglect, and certified representation of veterans. Early in his career, he spent several years working on behalf of insurance companies, including as General Counsel for Transport Insurance Company, defending commercial transpotation businesses and individuals accused of causing harm to others. He now dedicates his practice to helping people who have suffered catastrophic injuries ,death, or loss due to the negligent or intentional acts of others.
Mr. Pool obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Washburn University School of Law, where he served as a Senior Notes Editor for the Washburn Law Journal, and where he was regularly listed on the Dean’s Honor List. Mr. Pool also served as the President of the Washburn Law School Bar Association and was a Senior Member of the Washburn Legal Clinic for pro bono clients.
Following law school, Mr. Pool gained invaluable civil litigation experience working for the reputable firms of Davis, Unrein & Hummer, and Prichard, Norman & Wohlgemuth.. In addition he was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Kansas, Civil Litigation Division. In each of these positions, he gained a broad range of experience in all aspects of civil litigation, from initial client meetings all the way through trial and appeals therefrom, including the Supreme Court of the United States. Prior to joining Steckler LLP, he served for an extended period as the Managing Attorney for Baron & Budd, P.C., one of the largest plaintiff law firms in the nation.
Mr. Pool has remained active in his community by volunteering his time with the Boy Scouts of America and as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Circle Ten Council of BSA. Mr. Pool also volunteers with the National Organization for Veterans Advocates (NOVA) and the Texas Lawyers for Veterans.
Mr. Pool has been recognized by his peers as a “Texas Super Lawyer” in 2004, 2005, and 2006, and is presently a member of the Dallas County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Association of Justice He is admitted to practice law in the States of Texas and Oklahoma, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern, Western and Eastern Districts of Oklahoma, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas, the United States Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.
