After my case was filed with the court, I received a 7 day dismissal letter stating my case was not paid due to the filing fee. The contract I signed stated that was part of the fee that was paid up front to Merv Waage. I am totally unimpressed with his services right now. If I had the chose, I would have gone to a different attorney.
Merv and his staff were more interested in collecting money than helping me. The staff does not keep in contact with me. It took on average 4 days to receive a phone call returned and I was never able to speak directly to Merv. I felt forced to pay during my free consultation. He couldn't even wait until I left to cash my check.
Regarding his knowledge- I found it to be very outdated with his information. He gave advice based on outdated laws. I found it to be impersonal, cold. and talk to his clients very demeaning. I actually ran into other clients in the parking lot in tears about the he and his stafftalked to people in a demeaning tone. BEWARE!!!! hE TAKESS YOUR MONEY UPFRONT, SO HE REALLY HAS LITTLE TO KNOW REASON TO REALLY ASSIST YOU. I DID MORE LEG WORK THAN HIM AND HIS STAFF.
I have known Merv Waage for a good number of years. He is Board Certified in bankruptcy, but he is more than that. He is knowledgeable and fluid in the way he analyzes cases. He is a leader in the bankruptcy bar. He has a great manner that allows him to relate to clients in financial difficulties. Truly one of the best.
Merv is very knowledgeable in Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 Bankruptcy. He has kept up with the new laws that Congress passed back in October 2005 that has kept potential clients from filing . Merv assured me multiple times that the Trustee and Judge would grant me a discharge.
