Mark Neis is a board certified in consumer bankruptcy law by the American Board of Certification, one of two in Topeka and ten in Kansas. He and his partner, Jill Michaux, are Topeka's only bankruptcy specialists.
He represents debtors and small business proprietors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy cases. He generally does not represent creditors.
He is a founding member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. He was a founder and past president of the Topeka Area Bankruptcy Council. He was a founding member of the Kansas Bar Association Bankruptcy and Insolvency Section. He is a member of the Topeka Bar Association and the local Jayhawker men’s club.
Mark frequently volunteers as a judge in high school debate and collegiate mock trial competitions. His avocations include golf, ballroom dancing, gourmet cooking, travel, movies and music.
