I was referred to Mike from another attorney because of his expertise in immigration law. I came from Mexico to the U.S several years ago undocumented. Sense that time I have attended GED classes along with other specialty courses. I also have a Civil Union with my life partner. In 2012 I.C.E statred deportation proceedings against me. Because of Mike's efforts and expertise he was able to get I.C.E to use Prosecutorial Discretion and stop the removal proceedings! My partner and I felt like Mike took a personal interest in our case! He kept us informed throughout the entire process. Also, it was very helpful that Mike speaks Spanish, he was able to explain everything to me so I had a complete understanding!

Mike Baker has been our lawyer for several years.Â
He has advised and guided us in various matters, always evincing a deep and thorough knowledge of the law. His advice has always been most valuable.
He always returns calls and e-mails promptly, and always makes time to meet with us even though he clearly has a very busy schedule. Â Mike takes care that we understand our options, the meaning of relevant legal terms and their implications, making us feel at ease with topics that seem complicated and sometimes incomprehensible to us. We feel very secure and comfortable working with him and would not hesitate to give him the highest possible recommendation.
Many thanks Mike--you have been of great help and support and we are very grateful for all your advice, time and patience.

I needed to adjust my status from "out of status" to a permanent resident in the United States. I found Mike Baker by researching immigration lawyers in Internet. I gave him a call and Mr. Baker returned my call personally and I made an appointment to meet with him for a consultation.
At our first meeting Mike thoroughly explained the steps I needed to follow to adjust my status to a permanent resident. During the entire process, Mike never failed to respond my emails and calls. My situation was very difficult, but with his help my case was approved unexpectedly fast. My husband and I are happy with his services.
I highly recommend Mike to anyone needing assistance with immigration matters. During the entire process, I found Mike professional, extremely knowledgeable and always willing to return a call or email to answer any questions I had.

I filed for a adjust of status from Illegal immigrant to permanent resident back in Summer 2006, I saw a couple of Attorney's back then and they were too expensive so I decided to filed myself with help of an Immigration Counseling Org. My case was denied on fall 2008 due to multiple reasons, one of them back in winter 2001 I had a felony. I was devastated because I made a new life with a decent income, married with a newborn, etc. INS gave 30 days to reconsider......I google Attorneys and called at least 7 Attorney's in the Chicagoland area. I left multiple messages on 5 diff. offices which they didn't returned my vmail. I spoke with one Attorney stated it was hard to reconsider and TAT were too short. I reached MIKE BAKER at his cel#, (yes he listed his cel#) I spoke with him explained my case briefly and made an appointment. He took my case and we worked together. During the process I received top notch legal service, I found Mike Baker as very knowledgeable. We filed what INS called a Waiver. Long story short he submitted my paperwork......9 Months later I received the approval notice from INS and therefore my Green card. Thanks Mike for your service, you worked the extra mile on my case and went above & beyond my expectations.

Although I had a valid green card for 10 years, I was hesitant to apply for Citizenship due to a prior "misdemeanor sex crime arrest" (which classifies under the definition of "crime of moral torpitude" subject to potential deportation). Although in my criminal trial my case was dismissed and I pled guilty to a lesser disorderly conduct, when the time came for my citizenship application, I contacted Mr. Mike Baker for his expertise on Immigration Law.
After he agreed to take up my case for Naturalization, his advice was extremely valuable as I kept continuously submitting documents that were requested by USCIS. Michael's background on similar immigration cases, his experience in criminal law, and, his approach of analyzing potential future issues/queries across all angles, was simply amazing. With extreme due diligence in every step along the way, I was able to become a US Citizen after 1 year of my application.
Thanks to Michael Baker and I hope that he would continue to help out clients with their Immigration issues. I would highly recommend Mr. Michael Baker to assist clients in solving criminal / immigration issues.
