John Carey a nationally recognized trial attorney with extensive experience in the field of medical malpractice, personal injury and alternative dispute resolution.
During John Carey’s 45 years of trial experience, he has successfully resolved over 25 cases for an amount in excess of one million dollars each. Most of these settlements were in the medical malpractice arena where Mr. Carey dedicated a majority of his trial practice. He now has joined forces with his daughter, Shannon, who is also a partner in the firm and they work together on their cases, particularly in the area of medical malpractice.
John’s legal experience has enabled him to leverage his knowledge and become an effective mediator, helping attorneys and their clients proactively and collectively resolve their disputes in lieu of going to trial. Today John mediates/arbitrates 200 cases a year.
Through achieving successful outcomes for his clients and taking on leadership roles in dozens of professional and community organizations, John has earned several accolades. Most recently, he was selected a 2015 Super Lawyers honoree. In surveys by Minnesota Law & Politics, John has also been selected as one of Minnesota's Top 10 Super Lawyers chosen among more than 22,000 lawyers in the state.
Since 1997, John has been voted to an elite group of America's best medical malpractice and personal injury attorneys. The publication The Best Lawyers In America asked prominent attorneys in a national survey, "If you or a family member needed a personal injury attorney, whom would you choose?" They chose John Carey.
