My practice is devoted exclusively to the representation of plaintiffs in employment law and disability benefits matters. I advocate for the right of employees to receive wages, be free from discrimination, and have a safe and healthy work environment. I file employment law matters under state and federal laws including the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, and Title VII. I also assist clients in the pursuit of short-term and long-term disability benefits, including filing lawsuits under state and federal laws and ERISA. I work with each client to ascertain their individual goals and provide the information necessary to make informed decisions. Communication is the key to obtaining successful outcomes and client satisfaction.
When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, cooking, and scuba diving.

Liz is honest as the day is long, so that quality combined with her high intellect and hard work make for a killer combination as a top notch attorney in employment and disability law.
Alan Olson Employee Benefits Attorney
Relationship: Supervised lawyer
I met Attorney Schmidt when taking over a case that had started "off on the wrong foot." I was very impressed with Attorney Schmidt's attention to detail and genuine concern for her clients. She was completely prepared for depositions and court hearings. Although I may not have agree with her legal opinion against my client, She expressed it with respect and professionalism. We "put all cards on the table", battled in court and prepared for trial. In the end we were able to come to a resolution that was satisfactory for both of our clients. I was so impressed with her work, even if we were opposed to each other, that I have since referred three matters to her to handle for friends of mine. I have been in practice for 30 years and have seen many attorneys who either do not understand the meaning of advocacy or professionalism. Attorney Schmidt is a fine attorney and will continue to get better. She does "get it."
