Raymond Tinnian is the worst attorney ever. He screwed up my case bad. He did not file court papers and got me arrested for failing to appear when he promised me I did not need to go to court. He lied to me about fees he was charging for the case. He duped me into using him thru a court appointed program and said it would be free. He charged the state over $1500 for an easy OWI guilty plea and the court made me pay the attorney fees.
My biggest problem with this attorney was his lack of effort and communication with me while doing an appeal on my behalf. He seemed knowledgeable enough as he told me everything that could be done for me. I was very impressed with him in the first meeting so I paid him two thousand dollars cash to start the appeals process. After the initial payment, he never returned my calls and failed to produce anything that resembled a decent appeal based on others I have read online. Once I started to complain about the lack of work he had done, the communication issues got worse. At some point before and prior to the appeal being due, I threatened him with a report to the professional ethics board. His response was chilling. He told me that he had "good friends, very good friends, best friends," on the board and they would laugh and bury the complaint on him. At first I did not believe him, thought he talking crap. In the end, he cost me five thousand dollars for which I got two pages of written material that was so pathetic, I dropped my appeal. Total disaster dealing with this guy.
Hiring this attorney was a huge waste of money. As a court appointed client, I could have asked for someone else, but I didnt, because this attorney made a bunch of big promises. And he did not produce any results for me. And he did a bunch of work that made no difference in my case, but allowed him to pad his bill to the state. I owe the state for his fees now. After I started to complain about him, I googled him and found a bunch of stuff about him on a site dedicated to him. I wish I had seen that before I let him represent me. All of that stuff sounds like it could be true, because this attorney was a big weirdo.
Mr. Tinnian was difficult to communicate with. He always seemed preoccupied and on the rare times he wasn't, he appeared angry. It bothered me that he spent more time bad mouthing judges and other lawyers, than he spent discussing my case with me. He seemed average in his knowledge, like he knew the steps needed to get me through, it was just hard gettting the information from him. I must admit his appearance creeped me a little bit. His eyes, honestly, they bothered me. He had these beedy eyes that would just leer at women walking by us. It made me feel uncomfortable, even though he never looked at me like that at least as far as I could tell. His fees were okay. I mean they are okay had he actually spent time communicating with me in a proper manner. I FELT LIKE I WAS WORKING A WHOLE LOT HARDER than he was in trying to exchange information. I mean, I felt I overpaid him based on what he delivered, but his fees would not have been bad had he communicated with me. I just would not recommend this attorney, because his communication skills are seriously lacking.
Found him to be condescending and rude. His communication skills lack and he did not seem prepared for my case.
