Mr. Bankert and his staff were very professional and helpful during the most difficult time in my life. Mr. Bankert knows what he is doing and fought for me and my children. If I ever need help in the future, I will definetly have him on my side again! Thanks Attorney Bankert!
I would like to first add that i went with Terry Bankert because his retainer was not as expensive as other lawyers in Genesee county. That was a horrible idea. It clearly was a reason for that u get what you pay for.Terry Bankert is absolutely the worst lawyer in flint.I would not recommend that he represent your pet turtle if you have one. He never knew what was going on with my case or what i had retained him for or the correct laws for that matter. His staff is very unprofessional mainly his wife. And they continued to ask for more and more money after not doing anything . I dont know if they are in financial troubles or what.I had to retain another lawyer to actually represent me.Too bad i have to give one star because this firm is definitely not worth one star. I am not a mad citizen writing a review because my case was not won. I am truly writing this review in hopes to save another person from going through what my family and i endured mentally and finacially from Mr. Bankert.
After learning my drivers license was being suspended due to a order for alimony, I contacted Mr. Bankert. He informed me I also had a bench warrant for my arrest. At that point I didn't even know I was divorced as I had never been served. My ex was asking for over $40,000 in alimony and we had only been married for 2.5 years. Mr Bankert immediately went to work and was spot on with his work and through his hard and dedicated work, I owe her zero in alimony. Mr Bankerts staff also are great people. All of them were very kind and understanding. I was ALWAYS kept informed on the progress of my case and as a long distant truck driver, that is not an easy feat. Kudos to the Bankert Firm, I highly recommend and endorse your law firm.
It was clearly explainerd to me how property is divided in divorce. It was clearly explained to me the process of divorce. I was fully informed as to any discussions with the attorney of my wife. Bankert is very respectful.
I began with a happy marraige that near destroyed me when it ended. Terry Bankert explained the hell I was about to go through. I felt in control. Thank you Mr. Bankert
After reading some of the reviews left on Mr. Bankert I can see that others had similar issues with him. After paying almost $1,000 in order for Mr. Bankert to appear in family court for a joint legal custody motion filed by my ex, he did not fight for what I wanted at all neither. He smoothly attempted to get me to accept what the other party wanted from a judge that asked him to back away from my case after that date. Which he did. The only reason I gave him 2 stars for the categories of "knowledgeable" and "kept me informed" is due to some discreet and helpful info he gave me regarding my case. Other than that, it was a complete waste of my dime and time. It would have been better to either handle it myself or find someone better for my case had I known that my outcome would be what it was.
Terry Bankert was recommended to me via an Genesee County acquaintance while I lived in Oakland County. He was the WORST decision I could have made (aside from my marriage.) He did not fight for anything and just rolled over to advise me why I should accept what the opposing attorney requested. I would never recommend this attorney. He was not familiar with my case at all on the day we were scheduled to go in front of the judge. I'm pretty sure he didn't even remember my or my children's names let alone any details of my case. I finally found an attorney in the courthouse that I just happened to talk to; I explained my situation to her and she represented me the day of court because she was far more knowledgable regarding my case after less than an hour than he was after several months.
Had great initial interview seemed concerned said he could help. Told me the things I were doing were "huge". He talked me into spending a lot more than I really could on a note he would be savings that and then some. Our first court day he came in and called me by the wrong name. Then ask me what we were doing here today. I had to remind him that we were protecting my rights as a father. I was pretty frustrated at this point. Ended up he talked me into taking everything he said he could help with. So I spent 1000$ and could have not even gone to court at all and had the same outcome. So I missed 2 days of work, spent a $1000 I didn't have and got what she wanted. I gross 480 a week and pay $520/month in support. Have my son every weekend.
