Karen is an excellent attorney who thoroughly understands the underpinning of Lee county legal system. Could not have had a better lawyer!!! Feel she would also be an excellent judge. She is compassionate and understanding, with a quick ability to grasp complex issues and situations. Absolutely EXCELLENT
As a former client of Karen Elizabeth Miller, I found her to be compassionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable. I was charged with Aggravated Battery at the time of the charge, I was unaware of where my life was heading. Not only did Ms Miller represent me in the most proficient manner, but her compassion for my situation took precedence. Never did she ask me if I was guilty, she only addressed the issues and the facts and said to me to understand that she would represent me in the fullest. She was always there for me as an attorney, and eventually a friend. In the process, which took almost two years, the charge was eventually dropped and the State Nolle Prossed the charges. Ms Miller never waivered and had the upmost confidence in me as a person and her representation. After the charges were dismissed, Ms Miller offered me a job at her new law firm, here I have worked for the past 18 months. She is teaching me how to be a paralegal and is encouraging me to return to school to better myself. I recommend Ms Miller to anyone who needs a very qualified and compassionate lawyer. Her knowledge of the law is above reproach.
Ms. Miller represented me on my trial. I had been charged with “1st degree, attempted premeditated murder with a weapon.” This means, your life is pretty much over if convicted. I just had my trial in February, 2012 and I’m a free man after 18 months of being incarcerated. I got my life back and who gave it to me? Not the prosecutors or the judge who put every possible obstacle in our way, but Ms Miller. Her integrity, knowledge, hard work and her kindness towards me and towards my family is indescribable. I would recommend her for everyone. She knows the law inside and out and used her experience and knowledge to win my freedom. But what makes her so successful is the combination of her knowledge and her humanity and kindness towards her clients. She really cares about her clients, and fights for them above all else. Not only did she represent me, but also had to represent my wife who was a witness and the victim, against the State. The whole incident was an unfortunate accident, but the Prosecutor and Judge would not allow us to say so. Ms Miller, in spite of not being able to present any witnesses, won the case based on the evidence, or lack of evidence, and the facts surrounding the whole event. After the trial, one of the jurors commented that Ms Miller did a great job. I would just like to say thanks to Ms Miller for getting us our lives back and letting Justice prevail.
I was charged with battery and resisting arrest without violence. I was found not guilty on both charges in October by a jury. I hired Karen after dealing with two public defenders. The last public defender assigned to my case was not very available and had a defeatist attitude toward my case. The public defender also refused to deal with a warrant that arose from an issue with Pre-Trial Services. Karen got the warrant set aside with no bond required. I was released on recognizance. Karen was always available by phone or text message. She listened to everything I had to say, and she scheduled time with my witnesses to interview them. Karen went out of her way to travel to the site of the incident that created these charges. She made every possible effort to know as much as possible about the elements of my case. It is my understanding that she has two decades of experience in the local public defender's office and has performed in over 200 jury trials. She picked apart the inconsistencies between the police officer's testimony and his police report. She was quick on her feet at trial. Her passion about the case was evident throughout our time together and at trial. Karen will do far more for your case than a public defender or a pricey defense attorney with the billboards and commercials in town. This win under her belt is one of many for her, and I hope it can give you confidence in making your decision.
