Our parents and my husband and I all had our trusts completed by Mr. Pippen years ago. Both of my parents are deceased now and with my mother's recent passing we went in to see Mr. Pippen regarding handling of the Trust and estate assets. Our meeting was quick and all questions answered with very short answers. We left knowing little more than we did when we went into the office. We were not advised to get an appraisal for the home held in the Trust, nothing regarding probate for the automobile was discussed and we were not informed of the required steps that need to be taken during the Trust administration. We are trying to sell the house and called Mr. Pippen to ask about the "correct" name on the contract since the Deed and the Trust names are different. Mr. Pippen connected us to the Real Estate Attorney in the office who told us we had to pay him a retainer for him to even discuss this. Needless to say this was very upsetting to have no support from the person who is supposed to be helping us through this process. There has been no communication by the office and no support with the administration of the Trust and we now need to find an attorney who will assist us through this very emotional process. Mr. Pippen did not show any interest or compassion in helping us through the process and paperwork and was rude on the telephone.
I highly recommend Mr. Pippen, and his Largo office. He and associate Cynthia McMillian helped my family prior to our father's death, and through Probate. It was evident throughout that I could have made a bunch of expensive mistakes had I not been working with and advised by such a knowledgeable team. That translates into money saved, worry and stress reduced, and time saved by doing things right, from the start. Besides their friendly and timely responses, they answered a lot of questions, provided a free initial consultation, handled many things by email (saving many trips to the office), quoted and performed their services at a fixed fee, and did NOT charge us for anything beyond the quoted/agreed-to fee. Also of great value was helping facilitate the sale of the deceased's homestead property while it was in probate -- Not sure why, but two local Title firms told me that wasn't possible -- so glad I had Joe and his team on my side. I think you'll be glad too!
Mr. Pippen set up our family trust and later I sent my sister in law to him also to set hers up. He has been extremely professional with great follow through with his many clients. Just an example: After
I e mailed Joe a question he called me back within 1 hour with the answer
I would certainly recommend Joseph Franklin Pippen, Jr. He was courteous, prompt and precise with his answers to my questions. He's everything a good lawyer should be. I deeply appreciate his knowledge of legal documents. Thanks again, Mr, Joseph Pippen, Jr.
Admiring his fanatical discipline, I can always count on Attorney Joe Pippen's appropriate legal advice and the correctness of his documents. He was one of the first lawyers to popularize the use of Florida's Living Trust laws to help people avoid the hassle/expense of probate, protect folks from incompetency issues and provide his serivces at published low fees. That was beyond "fair." I recommend Joe Pippen and, especially, to other professionals.
