Description: Pinellas County entered into a contract with an engineering firm to design a pipeline for delivery of drinking water for county residents and with manufacturer to build and install the pipeline. After repeated failures of the pipeline design the repair/replacement of the pipeline was required, Pinellas County brought suit and after an 8 week jury trial a verdict was entered awarding $10,000,000 in compensatory damages.The verdict was affirmed on appeal.
