After 2 bad decisions on my wife's case I became determined to fight to keep her here in the US until the end. I decided to seek out the the best immigration appeals lawyer in the country to handle the case. I met with three other well known and respected attorneys in Miami and two other in New York. Before I could make a decision, an attorney I respect in Chicago told me to go back to Miami to talk to Mr. Weber. Based on this, I arranged a consultation and flew back to Miami. At our first meeting, in his small office, we met and then he went right to to reviewing the file. After a couple of minutes of silence, he looked me straight in the eye and told me that the government was wrong and that if I was patient, we would either win the case or he would go down fighting with me as long as I didn't give up. He then explained a complicated argument for the appeal that none of the other lawyers had come up with. He explained that it was an untested legal theory but that in the end it would win. I was skeptical at first but he patiently explained it to me and once I understood his theory, I hired him on the spot.

He filed the appeal and several months later he sent me copies of the legal arguments he filed, which I then forwarded to the general counsel for my family's investment firm to ask his opinion. A week later I received a memo from our lawyer that said it was some of the best writing he had seen.

16 months later, Mr. Weber called me and let me know that we won the appeal and would need to go back for a new hearing in front of the judge.

At the hearing, Mr. Weber and the government lawyer made some arguments, and after hearing both sides, the judge granted our motion to dismiss the case. It was quite funny because, Mr. Weber looked over at me and said, "Dude we won the case" and then kissed my wife and gave me a high five right there in court.The judge kind of smiled and then nodded at me. Definitely not like the other lawyers I know.
Finally, two days ago my wife gave the oath to become a US citizen.

After 22 years and over 10 worthless attorneys, I was lucky enough to find Mr. Weber and within 4 months of our first meeting I got my elusive green card.... Thank you very much Matthew, Elizabeth and Tatiana...
