About Me

I'm a lifelong Georgia resident, having lived all over the state:  Savannah, Marietta, Carrollton, Atlanta, and, for the last 14 years, Athens. I am married and a father of 3 children.  I think that affords me the perspective to realize that my clients have lives that  a serious personal injury case can dramatically effect -- for them, their family, and their work.  Cases are not just "files in a box."  I enjoy using my skills of advocacy to help people.  I suspect most of my clients would say that I am direct, candid, responsive and hard working.  I try to bring creative thinking to each case, and not apply a "one size fits all" approach.  One point worth noting:  I enjoy jury trials.  While most cases in fact settle without a trial, I think it is best if your attorney enjoys (and is good at) selecting a jury and trying a case.  I don't think it is a good idea to have an attorney who consciously or subconciously geers his approach to avoid a jury trial.  That approach hurts the settlement value of a case.  Finally, for those who would disparage jury trials or trial lawyers, as a "conservative" myself, I think individual and corporate responsibility is essential to limited government; and jury trials are essential to holding folks responsible.  They go hand in hand.  The right to trial by jury, after all, is something the founders of our country took seriously enough to put in the Bill of Rights!
