There are a lot of lawyers out there wanting to grab the first client they can get to get the money, not Andy Cohen of The Cohen Law Firm. From day one of meeting Andy he took the time to address all of my concerns and questions concerning my case. Andy assured me that he was very confident and knowledgeable of the law. Andy is hard working and dedicated and driven to bring positive results concerning your case. Andy is the type of lawyer that checks in on you whether you are going to court or not, he is a very loving and kind.

Andy Cohen represented me in two cases in the winter of 2009 and the spring of 2010. I contacted him after speaking to at least two-three other attorneys who did not seem a good match. He agreed to take my first case just a few days before my court appearance and when we initialy spoke on the phone, I found his voice to be strong and confident, but also quite comforting. During my first visit he made me feel comfortable and not judged, explained all the legal terminology, possible outcomes and offered payment options to ease any financial burden. I am not a citizen, I am only a permanent resident of the U.S. and English is not my first language, so beside dealing with criminal charges ( shoplifting misdemeanors), I could have faced a deportation as well. Andy Cohen was a great listener, very empathetic and concerned about me personally and I really appreciated that, because I do realize that empathizing with one's very complex personal issues is not something that every attorney is capable of or willing to do.
On the day of my court appearance he had arrived at court before I got there, while someone else's attorney simply forgot to show up. When my case was transferred to another court, he made sure to arrange a new convenient court date, without any involment of my part, so I can visit my relatives out of the country whom I had not seen for a very long time which could have been impossible to do once I entered some type of probation or a sentence.
Once I returned from my trip and my court days were due, he made sure that the entire process is smooth and seemless for me. He fought with the prosecutors and was able to persuade them to get my both cases dismissed and made me eligible for expungement!
Several months later I contacted him again when the court had twice lost the paper work for my expungement and he did his best to give me guidance and advice on how the court system works and offered to contact other legal professionals in the field if necessary to help with the matter. My record has been expunged for a year now.
He also assisted me when I needed help with forming LLC (for starting a small business) and he agreed to be one of the references that I needed.
I greatly recommend Andy Cohen as an attorney, because he is intellectually very sharp, posseses deep understanding of problems occuring in human lives, takes his work seriously and will fight for you. I also recommend him, because he is not only interested in his clients' cases, but he cares about them as individuals who are trying to recover and return to a normal and happier live.
