About me

Jessica M. Pannell, J.D., a partner in the firm of Conway and Pannell PC since 2008, began her career as attorney joining in practice with William Conway in 2001, bringing a professional specialization in handling trust administration and probate issues.

Ms. Pannell was awarded a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC, in 1996. She then earned a paralegal certificate from the Georgetown University Legal Assistant Program and was employed in a Maryland attorney’s office for several years where she was responsible for ascertaining and valuing assets, funding trusts, initiating and overseeing estate and probate administration, and coordinating trust administration for client families.

In 2001, Ms. Pannell graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law and was soon admitted to the Maryland bar. She was admitted to the Virginia Bar in September 2002.

Since that time, Ms. Pannell has expanded her areas of interest and expertise to work collaboratively with families through all phases of their legacy planning. She has a special affinity for families with young children and enjoys the process of strategizing for their long-term benefit. Ms. Pannell has also worked strategically with families with special needs. She serves as an adjunct legal advisor to the Cancer Center Book Project, an affiliate of The Write-Away Group, a non-profit support program for cancer survivors in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. She serves on the Legacy Planning Advisory Committee of the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation.

Ms. Pannell is an accomplished speaker and is sought after by civic groups, women’s clubs, and organizations whose members wish to educate themselves regarding sophisticated approaches to estate planning especially for women at all stages of life.

Ms. Pannell resides in Herndon with her husband and two young daughters, taking an active part in the local community and her children’s school. She enjoys running and has competed in a number of local events including the Army and Cherry Blossom Ten-Milers and the Wilson Bridge Half-Marathon.
