    Stay away!!!

I hired Tom back in February 2014. He met with me ONLY ONE TIME before I retained him. Everything else was over the phone. He did not make one court appearance. He never once thought the case could be won. He is not a lawyer that will go to court/trial. He will do whatever he can to avoid trial. He will basically force you to take the plea. He will try to belittle you. I wished I would have read the reviews before I hired Tom. I have also heard some horror stories from others about Tom as well. If your going to spend the money on a good lawyer, you might as well spend an extra $1000 and get Fiandach. A LARGE firm. Tom will put you through the DWI process but get ready to plea guilty to DWI. I will NEVER go back to him again.

    Got 10/11 charges dismissed

Thomas was the only attorney I worked with and understood the harship I was receiving and that I was very limited on funds and worked with me on a fair price for the retainer considering how pricey it can get, especially with the amount of charges I had

    Case #1.

    -DWI.
    -DWI with ability impaired.
-Crim Poss of Weapon in the 4th.
    -Unlawful possession of Marijuana.
    -Unsafe lane change.

    Case #2
-Crim Poss of Weapon in the 4th
    -Unlawful possession of Marijuana.
    -Speeding going 47 in a 35.
-Unlawful possession of alcohol for being under 21.
-Possession of alcohol with the intent to consume in a motor vehicle.
    -Operating out of class.

I was informed by Tom that he negotiated with the Assistant District Attorney and worked out a plea deal where if I were to plead guilty to one count of the DWI, that the other 10 charges would be completely dismissed. I was offered 3 years of probation for being guilty on the DWI charge.

I worked very closely with his other two attorney's in his office that represent him and I was beyond satisfied with the outcome. I worked with both Judy & Jenn and felt that they really did care about my case and I just wasn't another client to them.

I would recommended Tom Cook to anybody who needs representation for Criminal Defense.

A+++++ lawyer thank you Mr. Cook

Mr Cook's firm handled my case superbly. I called his firm the night I was detained. He was very up front with what I was facing. His pricing was very reasonable. His staff was perfect. The receptionist relayed messages very promptly. I had the pleasure of working with two of his attorneys who were very knowledgable and quite impressive in court. They were able to get most of my charges dropped and one of my charges reduced . No jail time, no interlock, and just a 90 day suspension. Well done!!

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I have hired Thomas D. Cook on three separate DWI cases. I currently do NOT have a felony DWI conviction which usually is the story for that kind of run. I also received no jail time!! Tom Cook along with his highly competent staff did an amazing job fixing the mess that I created for myself. His fees are not only reasonable but he will work with you creating a payment plan if you can’t come up with the entire fee on the spot (as I could not). Even the Judge’s said that I would not have been offered such amazing deals if it was not for the fact that his firm was involved. The best part about this lawyer compared to other attorney’s I’ve used in the past was I always knew what was going on in my case, I never felt like I was left in the dark or lied to about anything. His extended experience and knowledge in the DWI field were nothing short of exceptional! I would highly recommend him to anyone who has to go through the already stressful experience of a DWI. If you do you can feel better knowing there is someone working to help YOU!

    do not hire thomas cook!

i hired mr cook because my manager said he was amazing 8 years ago with his DWI. i should have known 8 years changes people. toms website said how he only works with dwis and has a 70-something% dissmissal rate. first off i have only met tom once for my free consultaion, i have never worked with him or had more of a 30second phone call of his rushing me off the phone insuring that everything was being taken care of. i worked with two other attorneys, that work for tom, my whole case. at the end of the day, i feel they could have done better arguing my case, and i got the max outcome of my trial. he later sends me a letter explaing about my trial and how it could have been worse, like jail time. when in my free consultation, he said jail time was OUT of the question on a 1st dwi offense. i later find out he sent this information about my case to my manager (and person who referred me) im heated and currently trying to figure out what to do with this. do not hire him, he is unprofessional and unoragnized, he has two other attorneys doing his work and even then, i dont believe his practice is up to par, AT ALL!

    Thomas Cook

    Buyer beware....
I retained Thomas Cook for a dwi defense in Dec.2011 and fired him in febuary 2012.When I called my new attorney and told them why I needed to retain thier services,I did not have to tell them who I fired. They knew who it was because other clients have also left after seeing how unprofessional and incompetent this man is.Do not hire this man!He is a terrible, unorganized, arrogant attorney who is a has been.At one time he may have ben the man but he is fighting modern day dwi's with twenty year old defenses.

Absolutely the most unorganized and incompetent attorney in the area

Was referred to us for a dwi defense. Came to meeting unprepared and told us to plead. We refused as there were inconsistencies in the report and my son was not drunk. He would have known had he taken the time to read it! We switched attorneys and thankfully the Judge knew of Mr Cook's reputation and granted us an adjournment. We were both thankful and taken aback that this man has such a bad reputation that the Judges hand out adjournments to those lucky enough to escape from him! Our attorney said that he could almost add anther attorney to his firm just to handle the cases he receives from clients that had left him. His bellicose manner and diffidence towards his clients is apparently due to an commonly known affliction of his that may someday require the use of his own firms specialty, Someone must stop this man before more people have their lives by his incompetence.
