John and his staff met and exceeded my expectations. They kept me and my fiancee well informed. I am quite certain we would not have been successful in our K-1 Fiancee Visa (China) without the help of The Roth Immigration Law Firm. Every case is unique. In our circumstance, the age factor was considerable. I was 58 and my fiancee 24 when we started the visa process. John would did not accept our case until they had interviewed both of us. We would like to thank Laurie Wu and her staff at Roth Immigration Law Firm for their excellent assistance in obtaining a K1 visa for Sera and her daughter to come to the US. Sera and I began corresponding about two and a half years ago when Sera wrote to me on a dating web site. After writing almost daily for a long period I visited her in China and confirmed that she was the woman of my dreams. Knowing that we loved each other was easy, but getting her to America proved to be a daunting task. I had been married three times previously and during the last brief marriage there had been unsubstantiated public charges of "abuse" when I defended my daughter against her. Sera was, because of her work, a member of CCP. So we both had issues that could complicate obtaining a K-1 Visa.

Laurie worked with us from the beginning, going through the risks of each issue and helping us to prepare to deal with these issues. She and her staff assembled our documentation and warned us of the latest issues that could become mistakes for us in our application. We made it through the application process without problems and only a peculiar request for further documentation of Sera's "international" travels caused an initial rejection at the interview stage. Sera had never traveled internationally but had taken one trip with her daughter to Hong Kong. The Guangzhou office also appeared to treat the application as one for a work Visa and demanded Sera provide a resume and work plan. Laurie patiently guided us each step of the way relieving us of great stress and preparing us for application risks along the way. She guided us through the request for additional information process insuring that our "additional information" would be adequate to meet the often peculiar needs of the Guangzhou office. She warned us, for example, not to "marry" in China as that would prevent Sera's daughter, then age 19, from coming to the US with her.

Laurie and her staff were always quick to respond to our questions and concerns. She quickly followed up when the Guangzhou office sent out a second Request for Information denial but did not request any information thereby insuring that our application was still on track. While we did not make our goal to marry this last July, Guangzhou finally approved Sera and Sandy's Visas and we will marry this November 6. I know because of the complexity of our case that we would have made many mistakes without Laurie's guidance. Her ability to smooth the bumps in the road to approval seems impeccable and we will be forever grateful to her for her assistance and expertise in making that wedding possible. I would recommend anyone to use her services. The K-1 visa process with the Guangzhou office can get complicated, even for the simplest application. Those complications can drag the process on for ever. We learned of many disappointed and frustrated applicants on various web sites and internet conversations during our application process. Often their speculation and advice turned out to be erroneous. Because of Laurie's advice and careful guidance of our application through the process, our relatively complicated case made it over all the potential bumps in our path and we will marry within one year of our initial application.

I hired John Roth for my fiance’s K-1 visa. While John was involved in the entire process, I worked primarily with Laurie. Laurie always responded to my emails within 24 hours – even on Sundays. I was always able to reach her on the phone, and spoke to her many times throughout the process. Our case was quite complicated because my fiancé has previously been affiliated with the CCP (she is from China). Laurie ensured that we prepared all of the necessary paperwork to prove that her affiliation with the CCP was in fact non-meaningful. Other lawyers assured me that her membership would not be an issue, but John Roth informed me otherwise. After a smooth process through each stage, when we went to the US consulate in Guangzhou, they did in fact ask her to provide supplementary documentation about the nature of her previous involvement in the CCP. Because Laurie and John Roth had us prepare everything in advance, rather than extending the process by another few months, my fiancé handed in all of the documents at the interview itself. My fiancé received her K-1 visa last week and we have already hired John Roth for the adjustment of status process. I offer my strongest recommendation on behalf of John Roth and Laurie.

After using Roth Immigration firm I will never recommend them to anyone. They did not do any call to the NVC or the USCIS. My Fiance and I had to inform the every step of the way. They always used excuses that it was the first time for this. And repeatedly the paperwork was done incorrectly. They even sent us a Petition from another client containing personall information by mistake. They never even appoligized for the mistakes they made. I asked for money back and they laughed. So now my Fiance and I did not get her visa approved because they did not look over the paperwork completely. This was after I asked Lauri to personally look over all the paperwork after they made many mistakes previously.

My Chinese girlfriend just got her fiancee visa in her mail last week! Her interview was the 4th of August, and I'm so proud and happy to say she got through her interview and only a week later her passport came in the mail with her K-1 visa pasted inside! John Roth and his wonderful staff represented my wife and i with our K1 visa. They worked with us to bring my wife from the Philippines to here in the USA. I hired them Jan 31, 2010 and my fiance (now wife) was eligible to enter the USA on August 19, 2010. Having no experience with visas, immigration law, etc., I was very pleased when I first contacted Rohn Roth's office and very quickly received a call from Gay Lynn Smith. After the initial consultation and instructions regarding the filling out of forms (with detailed instructions) from John and Gay Lynn, I felt comfortable to give these guys the reins. We hired John F Roth confident that they would help us through the K1 immigration process. Our case was held in background checks for 9 months at USCIS & our 'lawyer' did nothing to help us. They did not respond to emails or phone calls. This made the whole process even more frustrating. The promise of help & advice pre-interview never happened & to this day they have never contacted us to see if we have had our interview at the embassy. (I've been in the USA for 3 months now). I would recommend an excellent website called visajourney.com where all the necessary information required to file a family based immigration petition can be found. John F Roth was a total waste of $1600.

You never really get to speak to the lawyer. You only get to talk to the paralegal (1) the other are secretaries. The paralegal is more responsive via email. looks like he is over worked. they are knowledgable in the field but when you need clarification so that you dont worry about your case, they are not there to explain it. they know that it wont be a problem, but they only tell you as little as possible (they are understaff) and you are in the way. of course they all the time in the world for you prior to taking your money. they also mess up my schedule, they were suppose to inform me of an important date or event according to their policy but that never happened. i have to inform them of the event and then they got the ball rolling after yelling at me why I did not inform them?? What a joke.

My husband and I have been very happy with the Law offices of John F. Roth. Our contact; Philipp Krilov has been very helpful. He knows his business and is always ready to help. I highly recomment this Law Office!

I am the type of person that does everything myself, but when I looked at the paperwork that was in front of me I knew I needed help. When I first started getting my paperwork together, I was doing it alone and I saw what a nightmare it was going to be dealing with the government. When looking for someone to help me present my K1 visa case to the Immigration Department, I was browsing the internet looking for possibilities. I saw several ads for such services, but John F. Roth caught my eye because they had so much success in this area. I was a little hesitant being that it was an internest service, but decided to give it a try. After securing their services, they set me up with one of the partners who would best suit my case. I was pleasantly surprised that everything was handled in a timely manner, efficiently and I could e-mail or call at any time if i had questions. If Michael was not available, his secretary would take my message. Most of the interaction occurred via e-mail, but if I felt I needed to talk to Michael personally he was always available.

I loved that I could look on line and see how the status of my case was progressing and the web site had lots of pertinent information. I first asked John Roth to help with a different fiancee, but as happens in long-distance relationships, that relationship fell apart after almost 2 years. I met the perfect woman soon after, and again asked for help. With a nominal fee, he transferred the money I had spent to start processing my new fiancee. I accompanied her to the interview and everything went very smoothly. I would recommend this law firm for the purpose of K-1 Visa immigration law needs. My only criticism would be, I would have liked to have had more contact occur between the law firm and my fiancee. I know John Roth & Associates did not do much for her since I kept informing them I would be going back to visit, so I would handle everything... but it would have been nice for her to hear that they were letting me handle things since I was going to be there and could complete everything faster. I can say that I only waited 45 days for USCIS approval, then 5 weeks for our Kiev interview. Please KNOW that fiancees CANNOT come immediately after the interview. Mr. John Roth and his team were absolutely wonderful! They helped my husband and I get him here on a fiance visa and get through all the paperwork and customs without a hitch!
