How do I get real estate agent and MLS to correct the property information so it shows in correct online searches?
Im selling a property through a licensed agent, residential. The property USPS address is listed as one city (city B) because that city's post office services that area. BUT the physical location of property is in another city (city A), which is larger and more desirable. Because the mailing address is city A, smaller, less listing and less searches my property doesn't show up on "home for sale in city A" searches. City A is estimated to be getting 10x to 50 x more searches than city B, so my property is missing out on many potential buyers. The realtor said the MLS goes by mailing address so there is nothing we can do. Realtor said he checked with MLS and they confirmed. MLS will not work with the me the seller, they only work with the realtor. MLS is the only system that realtors use for listing your properties and Im surprised they don't have ways to correct the property's physical address so it shows in correct searches. I'd like an attorneys help in addressing this problem to the realtor and MLS since in my opinion my property is misrepresented on MLS and affecting my selling potential & buyers thinking my property is in city B when its not and is located in city A
You will have to gather evidence as to why the address that is listed is incorrect. They are going by what address is officially used by the USPS. Unfortunately, that is the address that is accepted for use as the official address. What can you provide that will support your contraction as to what the official address should be?
