Horrible experience with using Mrs. Barton’s representation. She made herself mentally and emotionally unavailable throughout my entire child custody case. I felt she did not assist me to achieve my desired outcome, nor did she take an interest in fully understanding what that was. My ex was ultimate...ly awarded primary custody, my children's family on both sides smeared my reputation and her lack of proper representation caused me to feel detached from the outcome of my case as well. She had little to no enthusiasm about her role as my lawyer, and took on a passive demeanor throughout the events of my case. Look elsewhere for someone able to be fully present and engaged with the happenings of your case.

Molly Barton was given my case, when my attorney at the firm decided to no longer handle my case, with no explanation. My case was essentially a step child case, and had I had the money, I suppose that I should have moved on to an attorney who was motivated to help me. In any event, I felt Ms. Bart...on was indifferent and detached regarding my case. I often received emails stating that she was away from the office. Despite the fact that there were "women's" issues, and "age" issues in my case, I felt that as a woman attorney representing another woman, that she discounted my "women's" issues. When the case was finalized, she actually stated that I could contact the court, that she did not know how the court handled the wording in "such and such;' issues. Of course, she knew. She was just finished communicating with me. I was not protected. At many turns in the road, she made me decide what I wanted to do, rather than actually offer me counsel. I was not the counselor. She was. She did not attempt to protect my interests.

Initially I gave Ms. Barton an excellent rating. If you have a short term simple need, she might be the lawyer for you. If you need a dedicated attorney for a tedious case, she is not the attorney for you. She choose to take a leave of absence during my case. I was shuffled between her colleagues w...ho were uninformed or misinformed. I was given last minute notice of discovery requests and she blamed her colleagues. Ultimately, she filed a motion to remove herself one week prior to my trial leaving me without resources and representation. Her representation was poor and her actions were unethical.
