I hired Ms. Carlo's services for divorce and feel I could not have been better served. When hiring a lawyer, you hope they will be 1) highly intelligent; 2) highly experienced; 3) sympathetic to your difficult situation; and 4) ethical. Ms. Carlo was all four. So good is Ms. Carlo at her job, I only ...regret that she does not practice in every area of law, because she would always be my choice. So much do I value her professional opinion that if I need legal representation in a matter outside family law, my plan is to first go to her and ask her opinion on the matter and which lawyer she would recommend I use. I mentioned sympathetic. Ms. Carlo listens. Carefully. She takes it all in, and later on you are impressed with her recall. It makes you feel like your case is her only case. With other lawyers, I felt like they were always rushing our conversations and either ignored or quickly forgot details I felt were pretty important. Ms. Carlo's thorough internalization of all the facts you tell her serves you well later as she shapes strategy. I mentioned ethics. One thing you worry about when hiring a lawyer is how they will bill you. Ms. Carlo was always completely honest and fair with her timekeeping. Her itemized bills simply demonstrated to me that that impressive brain of hers can accomplish quite a lot of work in one hour. She is efficient. Hope that you'll never need a lawyer. But if someday you do, hope that you'll find one like Ms. Carlo.

I highly recommend Katherine Carlo. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, organized and honest with incredible instincts. I trust her completely, and she has never let me down. If I could step back and do anything differently, it would have started with consulting with her much earlier. In divorc...e, ignorance can be damaging and the reality is that logic and what makes sense in business doesn't necessarily correlate to family law. My recommendation is to not only work with her but to do so early in the process. Katie is very fair in her billing. In fact, there was more than one occasion where her recommendation meant a financial loss for her. She could have guided me in a direction that would have meant more fees, but she did just the opposite. I always felt like she had my best interest at heart.
