I was born in Portland, Oregon and grew up in Vancouver, Washington. I began speaking Spanish at the age of 16, and in 2004, I moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico to become fluent in Spanish. I remained in Puerto Rico for eight and a half years. During these years in Puerto Rico, I accomplished my goal of becoming fluent in Spanish. Moreover, I studied law at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico School of Law. The language of instruction was primarily Spanish, and I graduated with honors.
My hobbies include reading, traveling, outdoor activities, such as skiing, hiking, and camping, tai chi, and practicing Shaolin kung fu. The meditation and breathing techniques that I have developed, and continue to develop, while practicing kung fu and tai chi serve me well at trial or when I am arguing in the courtroom.
In addition to experience as a criminal defense attorney, I have experience working as a prosecutor. The knowledge that I gained while working as a prosecutor gives me insight into how the prosecution may handle a case. And, it allows me to anticipate arguments that the prosecution may present.
Upon being hired to represent someone accused of having committed a crime I look for ways to get the best resolution for the client that I can given the circumstances of the case and my experience. I also look for issues that improve my client's position and that weaken the prosecution's case and for circumstances that will affect the penalties that my client may receive if he or she is convicted of the alleged offense.

Excellent lawyer
Travis was a great choice for a lawyer for my case. He prepared me by having me go through a mock trial which helped my confidence, even though my case didn't go that far. He helped drop all charges and nothing went in my record. He was highly knowledgeable and professional throughout the whole pro...

I highly recommend Mr. Travis O'Neal
I recently got myself in trouble with the law for the first time in my life. I was pulled over for speeding and was then arrested for a DUI in the state of Washington. After attending my first court date, I found that I was not eligible for a court appointed attorney. After a very long and stressful ...

Great Attorney
I was against the odds in my legal matter. I fought back as I have the right to. Even Travis didn't think my odds were looking good because of how Clark County treats this particual matter I was in and neither did I. Travis got me out of a huge bind, working with the prosecutors. I'm very happy with ...
