I don't understand how the other reviewers could be talking about the same person. Tom Makedonski has been a disaster! He regularly ignores phone calls and emails. He says he will email documents then doesn't. He agreed to pay for the financial education portion of my Chapter 7, then failed to send m...e the link necessary to complete the education, after numerous promises that he would. I paid for the education instead and took the certificate down to the court myself to be sure it was filed in a timely manner. I have a creditor that needs be added to the list of creditors. I sent the bill to Tom in January. It is now April, and I have confirmed with the bankruptcy court that he still has not filed the additional creditor. Oh, and I hired him and paid him in April 2013, but he didn't actually file the case until January 2014, after I asked him for my money back. When I talk to him on the phone, he's all promises, but he doesn't deliver the service that a competent attorney would. You may pay more for someone else, but trust me, it will be worth it! I'd have been better off filing this case without an attorney, because he has documents that I need to see, but he won't send them to me.

Tom was highly recommended to me through a family member as I started to contemplate bankruptcy in order to alleviate some of the financial difficulties I was faced with post the divorce. He outlined the next steps, action items for me and action items for him along with the timeline to get it done. Throughout the bankruptcy process, I knew Tom was always a phone call away. After all, he has given me his cellphone number during the first meeting letting me know I can call him at any time with questions. Tom comes highly recommended and I consider him one of the best lawyers in the area of bankruptcy law. Tom's knowledge and due diligence enabled me to sail smoothly through my bankruptcy. I hired Tom to do my chapter 7 bankruptcy case after interviewing three different firms. The reason I went with Tom was because he did not try to up sell me when he gave me a free consultation and it made me really comfortable and at ease. He made made my situation sound really simple and gave me an ...estimate of how long my case would take which was right on target. The most important thing here is that my phone calls and emails were always returned within an hour or so, I found that unbelievable and for that alone I recommend this attorney.

It took me a least 6 months to file my Chapter 7. I called Tom every month for 6 months asking him questions after questions. And sometimes the same questions. He heard my anxiety over the phone on how scared I was and how embarrassed I was to have to admit I had to do this. My self pride was in ...my way while I was stuggling working 2 jobs and my husband 2 jobs and still had to wonder how we were going to eat. Tom made me feel it was ok to do this. Tom was kind and very patient with me. He understood my struggles, he listened and he was there for me at all times. He's very knowledgeable I would choose him as my lawyer for anything.

Tom was my attorney for my bankruptcy case. From the first day he told me what should I expect, how much will it cost and how long it will take. I like this guy and I would recommend him to anyone who goes through bankruptcy. Six month after my case was over I started getting approved for credit cards again. Not that I would overuse them again but ....just as an example for people who say that once you file for bankruptcy you're doomed for 7 years.
