This client signed a retainer agreement that stated that he would pay $500 for me to attempt and resolve his child support matter without having to file any court proceedings, but if it came to that, an additional $1,000.00 retainer would have to be paid. I made every effort to resolve the issue with the State Child Support Enforcement office, but to no avail. So, I wrote to the client, and told him that I was unable to resolve it, and the next step was to file a court proceeding, and if he wanted to do that, he would have to pay the additional retainer, pursuant to our retainer agreement. He chose not to do this, but, instead, to leave this very mis-leading review. Everything I did and did not do was based upon the retainer agreement that the client signed.
