About Steven
Biography
Steve Yarosh is an experienced trial attorney with a broad background in police misconduct/civil rights cases, criminal defense and personal injury. He served as a prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C and was a lead trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice in the Waco, Texas case involving David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. Prior to that, Steve was Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago where he handled numerous Chicago Police misconduct cases.
In addition to his trial and courtroom experience, Steve has been as Certified Mediator since 1992 and has helped many parties resolve there conflicts through successful mediation. He has also taught law, alternative dispute resolution and legal research as an Adjunct Instructor.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Steve worked in newspapers as a Sports Journalist and photographer. He also served as an Officer in the United States Navy, including 3 years on board the Battleship U.S.S. New Jersey (BB-62) and one year with the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Beirut, Lebanon.
Steve is actively licensed in New York, Illinois and Oregon. He is an Order of the Coif graduate of Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago, and served on Law Review as a member of the Editorial Board.
