RUN AWAY FROM HIM

Where to start. I wouldn't recommend Mr Pease to a mouse looking for cheese. About 75% of calls went unanswered and unreturned. 100% of calls from my lender went unanswered and unreturned. After being asked 3 times to double check the property taxes because they seemed high, turned out they were inde...ed the wrong amount. He was always quick to blame anyone but himself for any issue that was had. Little did he know, I had seen email proof that he was wrong. Overall I've seen more professional fast food workers.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY

This was the worse experience I have ever had in dealing with a real estate lawyer or any lawyer for that matter. This should have been a very quick and easy process. I was selling my home to the people that were renting the home. There was no real estate agent involved, it was just me, the buyers..., the mortgage company of the buyers and their lawyer. The buyer and I both used Mr. Pease, unfortunately. We started this process at the end of August and just closed on 16 December. Not only did it take almost 4 months (double what it should have been) to close on our house, but throughout the whole process it was very hard to get in touch with him. He was not very good at getting back to me in a timely manner through phone calls, text messages or emails. When we did finally get him to respond he would always blame the other side for not getting him the information or paperwork needed to make this deal happen. Because I am friends with the buyer I was able to reach out to his mortgage company to find out what paperwork they were missing. They told me exactly what paperwork they still needed. When I sent a text message to Mr. Pease letting him know what the bank said their lawyers still needed and that I was just trying to help get this moving forward, his text back to me was, and I quote, "Driving me f_ _ cking crazy." This was an extremely unprofessional response. We were also supposed to finally close on December 13th at 1300 hours in his office. I work in Rome and had to drive an hour over to the closing. While we were driving to the closing the buyer and I were riding together and he received a call from his bank stating that their lawyers still had not received the necessary paperwork and there was no way we would close that day. So I continued to drive to Mr. Pease's office so I could talk to him to find out what was going on. We got to his office at 1240 hours and he wasn't there. We waited for him to arrive, finally at 1305 hours I tried to call him and sent him a text asking if we were closing and where he was at. He called me back 10 minutes later and told me that he didn't receive all the documents back from them and that we couldn't close. So we discussed that we would meet him at his office the following Monday to close. I specifically asked him if the payoff with our bank was still going to be good and he told me yes there would be no problem. Now a week after closing I am getting phone calls and letters in the mail from my mortgage company for a late payment that was supposed to be made on December 1st. At the advice of Mr. Pease he told me not to pay December's payment because he got the pay off for up till the 20th of December. I have no idea why he hasn't sent the check to the mortgage company yet. Anyway, please stay far, far away from this guy if you are looking for a real estate lawyer. I will say that the price he charged was very good, but after having to make two additional mortgage payments for how long it took to close and the hassle of dealing with him and now getting phone calls from mortgage company asking for payment I would have gladly paid twice as much if I didn't have to deal with him. I would have rated him a negative score if I could have. I am writing this review to try and save someone else from having to deal with the pain that I had to deal with. Stay away from Mr. Pease, choose anyone else.
