Sarah Catherine Bain

As a family law practitioner, Sarah helps clients negotiate divorce, separation, child support, child custody, as well as other family law matters. Her goal is to provide compassionate, effective, and efficient legal counsel. Sarah aims to help people navigate difficult processes as smoothly as possible, working to better the lives of the families and children she represents.

Sarah started her career in education. As a teacher, she actively engaged students on their level in order to help them achieve their full potential. One of her best qualities is the ability to listen as well as communicate with others while remaining patient and cool headed under pressure. Sarah has worked in several Oregon law firms with a wide range of practice areas, from disability and civil rights to construction and personal injury law. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University, including a membership in the Psi Chi National Honor Society in Psychology. Sarah earned her Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Lewis and Clark College, and her Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon School of Law.

In law school, Sarah was a member of the American Inn of Court, the student coordinator of the peer mentoring program, International Law Society Member, and a volunteer for the Oregon Law Student’s Public Interest Fund. In her second year of law school, Sarah clerked for the Honorable Charles D. Carlson of the Lane County Circuit Court in Eugene, Oregon. She was also a member of the Eugene Active 20-30 Club, a volunteer service club dedicated to developing leadership skills and improving the lives of underserved children in the community.

Currently, Sarah volunteers for the Children's Representation Project of the Multnomah County Circuit Court. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, downhill skiing, running, reading, baking, and camping. Sarah also has two children who keep her very busy and grounded in the true purpose behind her work.
