Not a Men's Rights law firm. Completely False Advertising.

I would give a negative number of stars if possible. This attorney claims to work aggressively on behalf of men's rights. In reality he does the exact opposite. My ex wife was very pleased with his representation. He collected his retainer and handed me off to a very weak junior attorney who personal...ly destroyed my divorce case from day one in court. That attorney is still in his firm. He did nothing to manage my case or his firm or prosecute my case and actually bring it to trial. He allowed my abusive now ex-wife to walk all over him and his entire firm without offering anything resembling professional representation. He secured no evidence even when it dropped in his lap thanks to my drunk, violent ex. When my ex flagrantly violated court orders written to constrain her drinking and driving and behavior with my child, he still did nothing. When my ex wife was removed from the home by the Cape Coral police he did not secure any evidence or move my divorce to trial. Instead of prosecuting my case as I expected, he very intentionally dragged it out by using local doctors he has referral deals with to perform Parental Coordination and Evaluations in the hope of using these doctors in court. He needs the help from those doctors because he has no clue how to successfully prosecute a case on his own from what I now know. His firm refused to stop that behavior even when I demanded them to stop. My divorce was so mishandled that it took three years and bankrupted me. I finally had to fire him and his junior attorney and finish the divorce myself otherwise I would still be waiting for him to set a trial date and end my divorce. I wasted roughly $30k on this stupidity and would have fared much, much better in court if I never met him at all. I still have to take my ex back to court now after four years because of the original mishandling of my divorce by Sam Assini and his Men's Rights firm. If you a man looking for representation, do not believe his advertising as I did. I am embarrassed to admit I hired an attorney off a bus bench. Do your research and find a reputable family law attorney in Fort Myers and don't make my mistake of hiring this person or anyone in his firm.

The Law Firm of Assini, Irwin & Associates was founded in 2003 and is now doing business as the Men's Rights Law Firm. We have always been proud of our reputation in the community and are committed to superior customer satisfaction. We are proud to have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau where we are accredited. We have had only one complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau and that was back in 2009. As you can see on the Better Business Bureau's website that complaint was resolved quickly and amicably. The current review was submitted "anonymously" by a person named "Michael" so it is difficult to reply as it could have been posted by a competitor or someone that did not retain our firm. If it was a client who wishes to speak to me about any issue I am always available and willing to address any concerns that he may be having. Keep in mind that we send out monthly billing statements and urge our clients in our retainer agreements to call us with any questions that they may have about their bill. I have not gotten any inquiries in quite some time. Any inquiry received by our firm is addressed expeditiously, courteously, and amicably. Again we are committed to excellent customer service. I ask anyone that has read this post to simply read our other reviews on DexKnows and you will get a true picture of the type of service that our clients receive and their satisfaction with our representation..

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
