I retained Mr. Hobby 5/20/21 with a fee of $1500 for an uncontested divorce. I gave him all the necessary information and confirmed with him that he didn’t need anything else on my end. After he took my money he sent me a vague email with excuses and I never heard from him again! I would call the num...ber for his office periodically afterwards and was eventually informed that the number was for a call center and all they could do was forward the call to him. I eventually stopped calling because it would get me nowhere. I’ve seen a few other reviews stating that he did the same thing to others. I plan to file a complaint through the bar.

Run, do not walk, away from this attorney. After charging me $3500 plus a $500 filing fee he abandoned me. I learned that he actually did a filing 2 months later, but now a full year has passed and no action has been taken on my case. On two occasions I got him to return a call. He told me what his ...next moves were going to be but he never followed through. His main number has been disconnected and he doesn't answer his other phone or return calls. When I went to the office he rents from another attorney to discuss things, he snuck out the back door and drove away. I see now why he was suspended before. That needs to happen again.

After taking nearly $2,000 for a retainer and filing fee, Ryan repeatedly mislead me about the status of my case and avoided my messages and calls for months after the Clerk of Courts informed me he never filed a case all. He has had his Bar license suspended for "misappropriating client funds to pay... for business and other personal expenses" of over $14,000. Avoid at all costs.
