Robert Christian Malott

I was recently driving through Souther Virginia and was pulled over on a stretch of I-85 N. The speed limit was 70mph, and I was not trying to speed and thought I was driving somewhere around 75-80mph. I got pulled over and received not one but three tickets. As my luck would have it, I got a ticket ...for not having up to date state inspection, not having my address updated on driver's license, and got a reckless driving charge for speeding 81/70mph. The cop said "that's the lowest speed he can give me". I was upset but thought I just have to pay some fines. After doing some research, I found out that the reckless driving charge in VA is considered misdemeanor and also goes on criminal record. I panicked as this would have bad consequences for me as a medical student who will be applying to residencies and my future medical career. I was very worried. I received at least 20 letters in the mail from different lawyers. Some just tried to scare you and some didn't seem sincere. Mr. Malott's letter was one of the few I felt was sincere and honest. I called 4 lawyers and chose him because he was knowledgable, honest, and confident in helping me handle my charges. I am so grateful that I did. He asked to send him some documents to help fight my case. I did not attend my court date as I was represented by Mr. Malott. He did an excellent job representing me: my misdemeanor reckless driving charge was amended to just simply defective equipment and other two charges were dropped. I am so happy I chose Mr. Malott and would strongly recommend him based on my experience.

I’ve never been pulled over or received a citation until early July in Caroline county for doing 80/55. I had no idea what to do.
