DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN

This man billed us $1,000 to do a simply clarifying order. He did it wrong twice and i believe it was either intentional to bill me for more money or just plain didn't care. He padded his bill up every time I questioned him on his mishandling of my case. RUN from this guy. I am pursuing dispute/c...omplaints as we speak.

This is a case in which I represented both he and his former wife. When his former wife saw his review, she posted her own review above entitled "John's Former Wife". I ask that you review her post and I will not respond further.

Crooked Practice

Bob would not share all my ex’s financial data in dividing assets in my divorce. I later learned my ex and I had several millions of dollars in shared assets during marriage, my ex didn’t share with the court. I never saw anything close to my entitled share and I have had trauma & health issues tha...t inhibited me from working Bob knew all of this. The ripple effect of greed has caused irreversible damages, affecting my children, too. I read up about Bob’s practice at risk of closing and why. Countless poor reviews. Karma’s a b****, huh Bob. I sincerely hope you fry in hell.

It is very unlikely that the person who wrote this review was actually a client of mine. I usually perform my services as a neutral attorney appointed by the court or the parties family law attorneys to divide retirement plans. Both parties are entitled to receive copies of any records provided to me by the other and I have never not provided records when requested. When the project is done, and if I had to run calculations, a report is issued. It is important for clients to be comfortable with the calculations before they are requested to sign off on a dividing order so that is why it is also important for me to provide records to them. What this individual has said is simply not how it works leading me to believe that he/she was never a client. If this person discover that his/her former spouse had hidden several millions of dollars, then there is simply no way that this would not have come to my attention. Nothing remotely similar to this has ever come to my attention in my 33 years of practice. Please note that I do not INVESTIGATE the existence of anyone's assets. That is not what I do. I follow the terms of the divorce decree and implement any required order to divide the plans identified in the decree. It is up to a person's family law attorney during the divorce proceeding to investigate the existence of community assets. The review is further suspect because how can a husband or wife not know if they have millions of dollars? How did he/she just now discover it? Why didn't the family law attorney representing him/her investigate it? Also, in Arizona, an asset not divided in a divorce decree can still be divided post decree. In any event, I never render services to investigate non-disclosed assets. Lastly, what is said about my practice being at risk of closing is just nonsense. Even in this "Covid time", I am very busy. In fact, I am so busy that a month ago, I terminated my estate planning services to free time so as not to have to work 6 days a week. I only perform services dividing retirement plans. I do not know why this person wrote this review but, if he/she was a client, I wish they would have identified themselves so I could call and try to work things out.

Mishandled

I hired Harrian to review my case, they insisted on phone communication charging me by the hour, only to waste my time with silly questions and conversation that wasnt relatable to my case, I had to get them back on track many times. At the end he reviewed my case and offered to work with me, but I d...eclined because of the experience I already had.

During the Covid-19 crisis we try to do all consultations and meetings by phone. The consultation fee has always been $50 for the first one-half hour and the normal hourly rate for any time above one-half hour. Most all initial consultations can be handled in one-half hour. Sometimes what a client may deem to be "silly" questions are important to get a complete background of the facts in order to give solid advice. I certainly would invite "John" to call me so that we can discuss his concerns. I have many consultations each week and I do not recall anyone appearing discontented with their consultation but would be more than happy to discuss this with him at any time.

Outstanding, Knowledgeable, and Professional - Highly Recommend

Robert Harrian drafted and submitted to the Court the QDRO documents for the community property retirement split post-decree for my ex-spouse and I. Mr. Harrian knew exactly what he was doing and what I was entitled to. My ex-husband had originally had the documents drafted up, and Mr. Harrian foun...d four (4) crucial mistakes that added up to an additional $10,000 that I was entitled to. Had I not hired Mr. Harrian, and had signed the documents my ex had drafted, I would have received $10,000 less than I did. Mr. Harrian communicated very effectively with me, my ex, and my ex’s attorney; and was able to get my ex to sign the documents, without needing further court intervention. On top of this, I was awarded 50% of attorney’s fees reimbursed to me for Mr. Harrian’s services. Overall, Mr. Harrian did an excellent and accurate job on the QDRO documents. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has retirement accounts to split. These documents are very technical and definitely need an expert review before you sign them.

Extremely Happy with Mr. Robert Harrian's legal services

It is very difficult to find a reputable divorce attorney who knows the law, is ethical and responsive. When I was going through my divorce 6 years ago, I asked around for a referral to a good divorce attorney and was referred to Mr. Harrian. I have a child and for anyone who is going through a divor...ce with a child, you know how emotional the experience can be. At times, I really didn't know which way to turn next or how I would get through this life changing event. After my first meeting with Mr. Harrian, I felt such a sense of peace and relief, and I couldn't be more pleased with his services. He helped me get to the best, positive resolution of my divorce case I believe possible. But most importantly, he did it efficiently (his mind is brilliant) and was always on top of matters. It was also important that I found someone ethical, meaning he helped me work through the facts and strategize the best outcome within the law, and with the best interests of my child in mind. Mr. Harrian would ALWAYS return phone calls and emails promptly. Often, these answers were to things that were running through my mind, and when I would write to him and receive his quick response to the matter, I was able to continue about my day. Recently, my former husband presented me with papers asking for more time/joint custody of our child and I once again went to Mr. Harrian for his services. I must say, the second time around is not any less emotional! Once again, Mr. Harrian's professionalism, efficient style, articulate manner and knowledge put me at great ease. One of my goals was to keep my child out of this situation, and I worked hard at keeping life as normal as possible. I also maintain a full time+ job and had to 'keep it all together' during this very emotional time. In my opinion, Mr. Harrian had a very tough job and made it appear easy, which put me at ease. By leaving the 'tough' things up to him to handle, I was able to achieve my goal of leaving my child out of the middle. I was able to face the lawsuit knowing I had someone I could trust and who knew what was most important to me. And he helped me achieve a favorable outcome once again. I truly don't know where I would be without Mr. Harrian's representation in my case. He kept the meetings to a minimal and in the end was able to work a settlement with my former husband without having to go to court. And it didn't cost me an arm and a leg - Mr. Harrian is very responsible and fair. I must say that my prayers were answered this time around as well, and I have Mr. Harrian largely to thank. One other note - the office staff is warm and they treat you like family. They know how difficult going through an emotional family case can be. I found his paralegal helpful and very responsive, too. Thanks to Mr. Harrian for providing me with excellent services, giving me peace of mind, and helping achieve a favorable outcome for me and my family.
