Bob is a veteran South Dakota trial lawyer with a long history of professional accomplishment and deep roots in the state. He was raised in Sioux Falls and graduated from the University of South Dakota with both his undergraduate and law school degrees.
Bob's father was the legendary South Dakota football coach, after whom Bob was named. His mother was born and raised near Winner, South Dakota. Her father, Thomas Drabeck was a farmer who also served as the sheriff of Tripp County in the early 1930's.
Litigation has been the area of focus for Bob's career. He has settled or tried hundreds of cases in South Dakota state and federal courts. Bob is a recipient of the prestigious Trial Lawyer of The Year award from the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He was the first board certified lawyer in South Dakota and went on to serve a two-year term as national president of the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Bob is also the co-author of The South Dakota Automobile Accident Handbook.
The Martindale Hubbell National Law Directory has designated Bob as an "A-V" rated lawyer for almost thirty years. This is the highest rating available to any lawyer.
Bob will continue to live in Minneapolis but will be spending a good deal of time in the firm's South Dakota offices and the state's courtrooms. He is the proud father of four adult children and seven "perfect" grandchildren. Bob and his wife Laurie, an interior designer, enjoy traveling to visit friends and family and love meeting new people and learning new things.
