PLEASE don’t make the same mistake I did. I hired Ricky Gallagher to assist with my divorce and custody and he completely took advantage of me. He charged me thousands and the ONLY thing he got done was the custody agreement, which basically consisted of him filing for the court date and then just si...tting in as the moderator did all of the work. I worked with Gallagher for an entire YEAR and saw this man MAYBE 3 times. If you like unanswered calls and broken promises of call backs, he’s your man!!! His next task after divorce and custody was getting me a child support reduction since I had been granted 50/50 custody and 8 months went by with FOUR cancelled court dates, all of which he blamed on the Orleans Parish court system. Finally, I had enough and fired him. Went to the court myself, found out what to do and got my hearing on the first try. Served everyone myself for like $20 (which he was charging me $250 for) and got my reduction with ZERO assistance. After that was said and done, i realized I hadn’t received a copy of my divorce...called Gallagher and was told that it was never filed and that I was responsible for the fees and filing if I wanted it done since I fired him. What was he doing for almost two years with thousands of my dollars????? So now I thought this whole time that I was divorced but joke was on me. Then I contacted him again to get my case file and the petition for divorce he had already drawn up so I could file it myself. Took it to get notarized so I could file it and the notary told me that it was completely wrong! Said that Richard wrote it up ordering my EX to prove we were separated for 180 days. Why would he order this if he’s MY lawyer?! So basically couldn’t use that petition so I had to hire another lawyer and just shelled out another $1000. This man is a joke and the head lawyer in charge, Andrea potter, is no better. I complained to her twice about the way my case was being handled with no resolve. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t make the same mistake i did!!!! He swindled me out of thousands that i didn’t have and could care less!
